After completing High School I enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Queensland. I completed my Arts degree in 1987 majoring in Economics and History ( Australian and American ).
In February 1988 I commenced work as a law clerk at a law firm in Ipswich, QLD. My job there was interesting enough for me to decide to study for a law degree part time at the Queensland University of Technology.
I finished my law degree in 1993 and have practised as a solicitor at various Brisbane suburban firms since then.
In 2005 I opened my own legal firm, R.D. Martin & Company in New Farm, Brisbane.
RELIGION/SPIRITUALITY
I was brought up in a very religious Baptist household, so any interest I had in other religions/faiths let alone such metaphysical subjects as astrology or tarot were definitely not encouraged.
As for being gay in a Baptist household, well that's a whole different story....
Nevertheless my interest in astrology and spirituality was fairly strong from an early age and I began to explore New Age spirituality in earnest in 1992.
By the end of 1993 I was proficient enough to give tarot readings and interpret natal charts.( Check out my natal chart here. ) I have studied these subjects since then - so far I think I have only just manged to scratch the surface. Anyone who has had a serious look at astrology and tarot would have to agree with me that one lifetime isn't nearly enough to even come close to fully understand all there is to know about these subjects.
Eventually I set up a professional astrology consultancy called Absolute Astrology in 2002.
Nevetheless I felt it was important for me to obtain some proof of my knowledge of astrology, so in 2004 I became a member of the American Federation of Astrologers and passed the AFA examination for that year.
For the last few years I have been a practicing pagan working mainly with Egyptian deities.
