ANPU
(Anubis)
The Opener
of the Ways

The illegitimate son of Asar (Osiris) and Nebt-het (Nephthys), Anpu is best known as the god who guides the souls of the deceased through the underworld.
However, he is much more than that.
Here on earth Anpu can be invoked by all who feel lost, are in need of guidance and protection or are facing an operation.
A few years ago a friend of mine was facing a painful but necessary operation. Her doctor had told her that she would be in quite a bit of pain after the operation and that she would take a long time to revover.
I sought Anpu's protection for her both during and after the operation.
Not only was her pain minimal, but her doctors were amazed at how quickly she recovered.
On a lighter note, Anpu is also known as the finder of lost things (including car keys) and great at guarding your home while you are on holidays.
In magic work he is invoked for guidance and for protection on all levels.
"Most revered Anubis, you who are guide to the gods, be my guide and protector through the darkened highways and byways of experience. Help me to laugh in the face of adversity and never lose my way when my spiritual eye becomes dimmed by the scales of materialism."

Anpu is depicted as a jackal or with the head of a jackal.
These wild dogs were famous among the Egyptians for their infallible homing instinct, day or night. They knew that anyone lost in the desert should follow the footprints of a jackal which would lead them back to safety
