NEBT-HET (Nephthys) - Queen of the Night

Goddess of the underworld, darkness, dreams and all things hidden and mysterious

I must admit that this beautiful and gentle goddess has a bit of an image problem. As the wife of the evil Set (the Egyptian god of destruction and chaos) some fear her as the dark side of her sister Isis. However, she left Set in order to support her sister after Set murdered Isis' husband, Osiris. It was through Nebt-Het's magic that Isis was able to resurrect Osiris. Prior to Osiris' death, Nebt-Het had an affair with him which resulted in her only child, the god Anpu. Some say this was one of the reasons why Set killed Osiris.

She rules the night and is the keeper of all the secrets of this world. However, she will reveal her secrets to those who ask which is why I ask for her help and guidance before any tarot reading. I am not yet quite sure why Nebt-Het has made her presence known to me. It may be because of my strong connection with her son Anpu. No doubt she will reveal her reasons to me in her own time. Rather than the dark side of Isis, I have experienced her as a gentle, helpful influence. As I am very much a lunar person and am often up until the early hours of the morning, I have felt her presence when working late at night.
