To the Memory of my Mother Zewdnesh Mersha 1949-2000
Home
Mom I remember mom all the love I remember,
You have a place in my heart forever.
I`m sitting here, I`m thinking back to a time when I was young,
my memory is clear as day, I`m listening to the dishes clink,
And all the times we loughed with You,
And all the time that You stayed true to us.
Now we say, I said, I thank you,
more than You could know,
than I could ever show,
And I love you, I`ll always love you.
You were there when we took our first steps,
And went unseadily a cross the floor.
You pushed and prodded: encouraged and guided,
Until our steps took us out the door.
You warry now "Are they ok?"
Is there more you could have done?
As we walk the paths of our unknown,
You wonder " where have my children gone?"
Your love, Your kindness and Your caring
Have made me the person I am today.
Your trimphs, Your mistakes, Your wisdom
Have always, a place in my memory.
There are times when only a mother`s love
Can understand my tears,
Can soothe my disappoints,
And cahm all of my fears.
I wish iI could tell You, mom
how much You mean to me.
But there are no words to say,
how much I admire You,
how mach I appreciate You,
how mach I thank You.
I`ve just lost my mother,
most people wouldn`t care.
But what happens when I need her?
And She just isn`t there.
This situation in new to me,
I don`t think I can cope.
With out You I feel so lost,
lost with out Your arms around me,
lost with out Your loving voice
telling me everything will be alright,
withe out You I don`t think they willbe
they never will be again.
In life, with out my mother.
Ithink I`ve lost all hope.
I `ve lost a lot of special folk,
They`ve all died, You see.
But none quite like my mother,
For She gave birth to me
