The Best Girl Scout Websites

(In My Humble Opinion!)
Links last checked: 8/17/03
Please note that sites do disappear occasionally. I will try to keep this list updated, but the older it is, the less reliable it will be. Most of these sites have been around for a while, though. Please email me if you find a broken link or if you find a super-duper site to add. Click on a topic to go to that part of the list.

This is a part of GSUSA's site that has pictures showing correct placement of badges, pins, etc. on the uniform.

Insignia Placement Diagrams
This is a .pdf file and requires Adobe Acrobat or a similar program to download. It is also a very large file. However, these are the best insignia placement diagrams I have seen. They are very large, colorful and easy to read. There are eight diagrams: Daisy GS tunic, Brownie GS sash, Brownie GS vest, Junior GS sash, Junior GS vest, Cadette GS sash, Senior GS vest and adult GS blouse. Terrific!

(Check out the forms section of this site for ways of keeping track of what your girls are doing, including programs you can download.
There is also an entire section of this site, Leader Resources, devoted to all kinds of different things to help leaders.)

Mascot Exchanging
A mascot is a small stuffed animal which is sent to visit another troop. A mascot usually has a journal and brings information and SWAPS for its hosting troop. The hosting troop writes about the visit in the journal and then sends it back to its home troop with the same kind of goodies. I have never taken part in a mascot exchange, but there are lots of troops who have.
This web site has some information about mascots:
GuideZone Mascot pages
This is a group on Yahoo that you can join to find other troops to exchange mascots with.
