Since 1843, B'nai B'rith has enhanced the lives of Jews around the world. Originally started by 12 recent immigrants from Germany, the organization now counts over 250,000 members in 57 countries.
Throughout the United States, B'nai B'rith has helped alleviate suffering of food victims in the Middle West. We have raised money for victims of the Oklahoma City bombing as well as the burning of synagogues in California. Outside our borders, we are raising money for earthquake victims in Turkey, the flood victims in Central America, and the bombing victims in Argentina.
The Permian Basin Lodge #2409, our lodge, has supported many Jewish organizations such as the National Jewish Hospital, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Anti-Defamation League, Temple Beth El, and non-Jewish organizations such as Hospice, Meals on Wheels, and local disaster relief programs.
If you're not a member of our lodge, we invite you to join and be a part of the Jewish History in the Permian Basin. Membership is open to both males and females that are of Jewish faith. The dues are $127.50 for couples, $85.00 for an individual over the age of 35, and $42.50 for an individual under the age of 35. Meetings and programs are held on the third Tuesday evening and your willingness to expand the membership of B'nai B'rith helps the Jewish community around the globe. Your membership will provide for additional programming and services, which help the community at large. You can feel good and proud about being part of our lodge and together we can continue to build our Jewish history.
