Welcome to Olivia's Page

This is a kid friendly page and at the bottom you'll find links to games etc.  This is where I'll be updating things about Olivia such as school and anything else she maybe getting into.

Olivia still keeps the long curly hair and its up for the most part. No bows though, she out grew that. She loves the motorcycle, anytime Bryan brings it out she begs to go for a ride, she's fast to get her jeans, jacket and can't forget those sunglasses.

Olivia as always isn't afraid of much except spiders still. Take her to the amusement park and you can't get her off the rides, the bigger the roller coaster is the better she likes it.

Talk!!!  That girl still can out talk anyone and wants the last word as with most kids. She has a point to make and wants you to hear it.

As an 11 year old girl, she is learning the emotional part of being a female. She carries her feeling on her shoulders at times.  She has a big heart and is always worried that someone is mad at her.  If she knows she did something wrong she will keep saying she's sorry and asking if your still mad.

She's is learning the responsibility of money.  She has chores to do each week and puts her money into a savings account. I think that has really tough her a lot about saving for things you want. Also, earning money was a real motivation to get her to do chores.

She's in the 5th grade now.  Last year was a wonderful year for her. Olivia made the honor roll most of the year.  She really just excelled in her work. Lets hope this year can be just as productive.

This is the second year for Cheerleading. She found something she really likes to do even though she lacks a little grove.  She is always so afraid that she'll mess up that she thinks about the routines and doesn't just let herself go. It's a lot of work, she's at practice 4 days a week for 2 hours and games every Saturday. So with that, school and homework doesn't leave her much time.  But she is staying out of trouble for the most part. Learning lessons now on how to pick the right friends to hang around with. She is a follower, so that is something we are working on with her. Followers can find themselves in deep trouble if they don't lesson to that little voice inside their head.

Updates:

Well the long curly hair went, we talked her into cutting off all her hair in hopes it would be more manageable, that was a mistake, so now it will have to grow back out.

Olivia is moving on to the sixth grade and now that means she will be in the middle school, she is nerves about it just as much as I am. She is looking forward to more sporting activities that the school offers.

Her third year of cheerleading will start next month.

Olivia was in Chorus this year and had a Disney theme concert which was really kool.

The BIG event this year was, she played the snare drum in band at school.  The band was inviting to play for the Pirates baseball game. Her school was the first school to play at the new stadium.  It was such an honor for them.  She loves band I guess that is just in her blood.

I Loved You Enough

I loved you enough to ask where you were going, with whom, and what time you would be home.

I loved you enough to insist that you save your money and buy a bike for yourself even though we could afford to buy one for you.

I loved you enough to be silent and let you discover that your new friend was a creep.

I loved you enough to make you take a Milky Way back to the drugstore (with a bite out of it) and tell the clerk "I stole this yesterday and want to pay for it.

I loved you enough to stand over you for two hours while you cleaned your room, a job that would have taken me 15 minutes.

I loved you enough to let you see anger, disappointment and tears in my eyes.

I loved you enough to let you assume the responsibility for your actions even when the penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart.

Children must learn that their parents aren't perfect.

But most of all I loved you enough to say NO when I knew you would hate me for it.  Those were the most difficult battles of all.  I'm glad I won them, because in the end you won, too.
