A Ghost story
The dreamtime
Aboriginals have haunted and feasted and starved and loved and fought and tended to their spirit Gods in this ancient land for 20,000 years.  It may have been for much longer, for we still know little of the distance of dream-time.  The old men's tales, which gave their own people a coherent and satisfying record of the past, did not catalogue events on a time-scale that we can understand.  They lived in harmony with the land, at a pace with matched its own, closer to geological time than most men have been

There is a great sadness that so much has been lost of the rites and ceremonies of those who built the mythodology of the wonders around them and peopled the rocks with their spirits.  The Aborigines know the land well in its harsh reality yet it is they who bring it dancing to life in their legends.
