Once, Amaryllis was a dark place. The sun could not rise, did not rise, for a long time. A dark Knight fell and succumbed to his monstrous fate. A young sorceror was ashamed of his destiny, and suffered despair. A common street rat was told that he was not only unwanted, but he was a child of rape. The savage orc sold his soul for the worlds darkest axe.
But... yet..
The Knight fought his fate, and destroyed the demon within. The sorceror discovered purpose, and was calmed. The street rat fell in love, and had a beautiful child. The orc grew to become a paragon of chivalry and might. The dark Lord was toppled from his throne, and cast into a hell so deep, so personal, that none could ever hope to bring him back.
Five hundred years have passed since those dark times, and the world seems much better for it. The nation of Asgard is stronger than it ever was. Paladins roam the streets of even the most cruel places. The nation of Nagukor has finally begun to embrace change, somewhat reluctantly. And even the ancient art of mind magic has been rediscovered in Sithicus.
But Rivas Kul, a dark nation, has risen and seems too strong, too deceptive, to be struck without dealing a great moral blow to Asgard. The dark jungles of Jolir, inhabited by peaceful elves, bards, and fey, has been suffering from mysterious disappearances. Cultists are stirring, according to the paladins, as if they were preparing for something.
Diviners have been slowly going insane- Fate is impossible to dictate, even now, but they seem to be spouting accurate prophecies. Worse, a few of the Warriors of Hope have been fading, their immortal lives being too mundane, retreating into heavenly realms. The Paladins, angered at their inability to strike at Rivas Kul, are falling in record numbers.
The world seems to be spiraling towards a dark fate, a future too bleak to imagine, and all that stands between it and its ultimate doom are a group of individuals attempting to fight against the impositions the universe has made upon them.
The wheel turns, and things change.
