I always wanted to build myself a vacuum tube tesla coil. Unfortunately I had no plate transformers avalaible around, so I had to use the " multiplier way" . This transformerless variant of VTTC is very safely and can be used at physics lessons with electric discharges in RF fields.
A. FIRST STEP: 600 VDC HALF WAVE. Results: 1 cm spark, lighting neons at 30 cm distance.
