A query
On looking at some burials of my ancestors at Tetbury, I noticed that at
least 5 of my relatives in 3 generations, died in the space of a few months in 1787.
John BISHOP (son of Samuel) buried 24 April 1787 aged under 5
Jane BISHOP nee SMITH alias BARTHOLOMEW buried 28 Oct 1787 aged 41
Samuel BISHOP (husband of Jane) buried 10 Dec 1787 aged 44
Mary BISHOP (wife of Nicholas) buried 16 Nov 1787 aged about 71
Nicholas BISHOP (father of Samuel) buried 4 Dec 1787 aged 71
Burials at Tetbury -
I counted up the total for 1787 - 121, with 54 in 1788 and 70 in
1786. I expected an average of about 80 deaths a year, based on my
earlier studies
So, yes there was certainly 'something going around'
