DREAMS - by The Hostess Adam found the girl of his dreams. The only problem, she was terribly mean. He tried to talk to her, she would ignore him. Adam thought she was pretty and smart, he could not believe she captured his heart. One night he saw her looking at the moon. All Adam could do was swoon. He noticed she had tears in her eyes. Adam felt helpless, and sighed. She noticed Adam looking at her. She yelled, “Leave me alone, I was meant to be alone.” Adam ran to her house, and asked, “Why?” But all she could do was cry. He put his arms around her, she felt so safe. She could not believe she was no longer filled with hate. She said, “Can’t you see we’re not meant to be”. But Adam said, “All I see is a beautiful face in front of me. Lets leave this town and be free.” She cried, “I’m not from this world, I must leave.” Adam yelled, “No! We have a future ahead." She said, “You don’t understand I’m dead. I’ve been dead for years, that’s why I have all these tears. I push people away from my sight, sometimes I give them a real good fright. One day I was going to give you a fright, but when I looked in your eyes I was so surprised. You stared back at me with love in your eyes and I wanted to die or shall I say I wanted to die again. I thought to myself I’ll just treat you mean, so you could leave.” Adam said, “I didn’t care if you treated me mean. I knew you were the girl of my dreams. I don’t understand why you said you were dead.” She said in a sad voice, “I was riding my bike when a car sped by, he hit me so hard, I flew high. I was dead before I hit the ground. The guy who hit me was never found. My parents were depressed and they moved away, but I decided to stay. I wanted to live my life with anger and hate, but Adam I thank you, I can change my fate. I’m ready to go to the other side.” Adam said, “No! I don’t want to say goodbye.” She said pleading, “Adam, I need to go, I need my peace.” Adam said in an angry voice, “Then I'll kill myself so we can be together.” She screamed, “NO! Don’t do that ever. It doesn’t work like that. If you do that we’ll never be together.” Adam said, “Then I’ll wait forever.” She said calmly, “I must go, please kiss me goodbye, So I can go way up high.” When Adam opened his eyes, she was gone. Adam lived to seventy-four, his heart could not take anymore. In his coffin his smile was a mile wide. He was at peace with his new bride. . . .
