| While working for various tour agencies, Yao had an idea to show his travelers his own traditional Thai ways, not just the tourist spots. As Yao worked for other tour companies, he could not share as much as he liked but had to stick to their itinerary. Determined to show his travelers his own ideas about the best parts of Thailand and Thai culture, Yao started 1000 Smiles. Yao has always loved to share his ideas and culture with travelers. Many encouraged him to start his own travel company. With their help, Yao has learned exactly what travelers like to experience, learn, and explore in Thailand. Feedback from hundreds of travelers has helped Yao create an amazing journey through Thailand. Many have inspired him to build this website sharing Thai culture as well as organizing personal journeys all based on Yao’s ideas and experience as well as traveler’s feedback. 1000 Smiles is for those who love to share the experience of traveling with others who enjoy exploring and learning. You have inspired us and we hope to continue to make you smile. 1000 smiles therefore is not a tour agency that runs big group tours. Instead Yao shares his country and culture as a friend sharing his home. You will experience Thailand as a local with the people in your group led by your friend Yao. This adventure is designed for open mined, adventurous, and fit travelers who are excited about learning and exploring our world. Because you will be experiencing Thailand as a local, it is important that you enjoy new experiences and get along well with new people in new places. You will take part in a variety of travel and living conditions that Thais experience from taxi, train, buses, boats, songteow, and tuk tuk to bamboo huts, hotels, and guest houses sometimes sharing traditional Thai family-style meals. So as to provide a personal and friendly journey, we will lead one traveler to a maximum of ten travelers. In order to provide the best quality, we lead the journey only once a month.
