The central notion in this process was to create an organization made by and run for tenants. THAT is designed to be a partnership organization working in conjunction with established community organizations. If you are interested in becoming a member of THAT, the cost is $10 per year and you can click NEW MEMBERS on the left to download the membership form. In May of 2001, THAT received official recognition as a non-profit organization. To enhance the quality of life for tenants of the Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) by promoting and sustaining an effective, democratic, tenant driven organization that represents tenant interests through: (a) Promoting cooperation and communication among tenant councils and their members. (b) Coordinating tenant efforts at building communities. (c) Providing support and training for THAT members. 2. To mobilize one voice for tenants (of the TCHC) on broad policy issues as determined by tenants.
