Novemeber 2nd. Progress. At this point we have assembled all of the baseboard modules for the first time. We were quite happy to find that they did fit ! A few minor alterations were needed , but all in all things went well. As of today, Sunday 9th, all the boards line up perfectly and the wiring has begun. Some additional support will be required to eliminate the slight warping of the plywood. |

January 18th. Progress. At this point we have all the track down. We have now made a start on the scenery. All of the track is wired up and we are now wiring up the section switches. The layout has also received a name. It is now called Ardleigh Bitton. We hope to get the station area scenically complete in the near future. |

The scenery in this area is made from a base of extruded polystyrene boards cut roughly to shape. This is then covered with bandages soaked in plaster. We coloured the plaster green to hopefully not have it show through the final layer, but it seems now that the colour sould have been darker, or perhaps brown. Learning as we go, it seems ! Finally we coat the top of the finished plaster layer with a mix of commercailly available flocking and other products. |
