July 31st 2003. This is a prototype ot the support system were are planning to use. It is based on a tried and true principle of the tressle. We have used three legs for balance with strap hinges on each leg. There is a chain to hold them at the required seperation. The construction also stops the leg from opening flat and the obvious doom that would ensue! The top bearing surface pivots to ensure continual contact with the baseboard underside. The construction is basic "1x2" planned softwood, screwed together. |

August 2nd. Below are four pictures showing Peter, Andrew and William hard at work. The popcorn and beverages really help production. At this point we have to thank our host, Pat Hopkins. Meetings are held in her Rec Room with construction happening at this time in her laundry room ! After learning from the mistakes of the last layout, we are making these baseboards a bit more rugged. They have been constructed from 1x4 softwood with 3/8" plywood tops, screwed together. |

The track plan is now being copied on to the baseboard. William has made a set of cards, one for each module, that have the plan drawn on to them. This way it could be established how the different combinations of baseboard can be out together. It is hoped that we can have both a 14x12 foot continual run, or a 12x3 terminus to fiddle yard configuration. (Note: The terminus arrangement has not come to be as of June 2005.) |

September 13th. Dave Thoms and Andrew Hopkins work on one of the corner modules. This one will have the tracks on a bridge over the road. The station access road can also be seen. This picture was taken in the garage of William Bickley, showing the ease of transport of the system. |
