Cardholder Scams?
Ever give money to homeless people at street corners?
Wonder how much of that go for food, how much on drugs/booze, and why/if they're homeless?
A study in New York City showed that a "homeless beggar" could make up to $70,000 a year!! I'm in the wrong business....
A guy comes into my brother's workplace and buys some athletic equipment with a roll of ones and a huge bag of rolled coins. He was a few bucks short so he said to wait and he'd be back. He was driving a Ford Explorer and dressed like a prep.
half an hour later, dressed in dirty torn clothes and looking like he was missing some teeth. He hands the cashier a worn five dollar bill... smiles, and drives off in his $30,000 vehicle.
Makes you wonder non?
Today I was driving home with a box of McDonald's chicken nuggets *mmmmHHMmmmmm*. When I get to FM 1960, a cardholder is standing there. I ask him if he's hungry and he nods and comes over saying "thanks". Then I start to hand him my box of 18 nuggets and he backs up and shakes his head.... maybe he wasn't so hungry after all.
wonder how drunk he'll get tonight.
A year ago, I was walking home on a VERY hot day drinking a huge glass of ice water. A homeless person is walking the other way and he starts staring at my glass... He finally gets the nerve to ask for a piece of ice or something and I hand him my glass. You could tell he was homeless because of the great gratitude he showed when he said thanks. No jokes or whatever, just a smile in his eyes.
Big difference isn't it?
Numerous newscasts have shown "homeless" people driving brand new cars and living in middle class houses... Sometimes it makes me sick....
btw, on a different subject, did you know the average welfare recipient makes around $26,000 a year? Lots of hardworking people don't make near as much...
I'm definitely in the wrong business
But of course, I'm an idiot. |
