Sometimes people really piss me off..

I like to think I understand people for the most part, in general. but some aspects of us really bug me and I sometimes feel i'm the only one who sees this. So of course, I have to share my observations with you. Hey, i'm a lonely person.
Ok, why are people so stupid? (I should really write a book) Why do people seem to always follow the loudest voice? Why is it someone can be a jerk to people, start trouble, insult, degrade, and even instigate fights and people seem to say "that's just him/her." But the minute someone stands up to them, THEY are the freaking bad guy? what kind of idiot stands by and watches someone tormented, says they are against it but never speak up publically, then condemn the one person who does?
I see it all the time. 30 people in a group, one loudmouth punk. 28 of them just take it, and such, one person stands up and knocks the jerk off his high horse. if it sparks an on going problem eventually the guy who stood up to the problem is the one ostracized? (this could be taken on a global scale too, but i'll save that for UP) Why is it people don't condemn the troubled person, but DO attack the person defending himself or standing up for the rest of them? why are people such lemmings?
example A: In a utopia kingdom I was in, there was a guy there who fomented a civil war. he got two others to join him in attacking one of our mates. He was a huge T/M at the time and was all but untouchable but the other two got thrashed. At the end of it all one was killed off and one defected. At the end of it he apologized. The kingdom forgave him and let him stay! I was brand new to the kingdom but WHY? Freaking morons believed him (he said he was sorry when our allies finally started breaking him) and let him stay. I found out later he did it again and tore the kingdom in half, i had defected right afterwards so never had to deal with it.
I cannot tell you how many people privately agreed with me, Pmed me with 'good job, he's a jerk', etc, but in public once the fur started flying they all kept their mouths shut.
example B: A friend of mine was in her place of business. There was a woman there who talked smack about each and every person. She was at the exact same level as they but demanded respect beyond her station. She was a jerk. One day my friend stood up for another girl who was being verbally abused by this jerk. That day several people patted her on the back privately for her strength. The next day the jerk brought a complaint to the manager. He asked around and behind the scenes heard that MY FRIEND was a trouble maker!? all the little lemmings figured the jerk would never be fired so they ratted on my friend and she lost her job. I'm sure she's still making their work environment hell. Stupid people.
Example C: ever see a guy hit his girlfriend? you proceed to beat the crap out of him and SHE jumps on your back? that has happened hmm three or four times to me. I'm sure some of you have better stories.... WTF? I hope he beats the hell out of that stupid woman LOL.
It just bothers me that so often the one person who decides they've had enough of a jerk and stand up to them, is just as often shouted down by the mob. fear? stupidity? lemmingness? no idea but for some reason i'm really getting worn.
in my latest kingdom there are a couple of women who basically run the place no matter who is monarch. another girl refused to agree to all their beliefs and always seemed to be on the other side of arguements. She quit the kingdom for a few days but considered coming back. They got together and got the majority of the kingdom to agree to keep her out. many of them liked her and her "friends" in the kingdom she was closest to were conspicuous in their absense and lack of support for her. I agreed with some of the points of the two women but felt they used underhanded tactics to get this "vote" ... they threatened to quit and take a chunk of the kingdom with them. i'd say leave then.. but the king folded and refused to let the girl (his girlfriend IRL! even) to come back. Now i'm quitting THIS kingdom because of the nasty way they went about keeping her away.
I'm sure we'll both get plenty of .. 'gosh, wish you didn't have to go" or "I agree with you about them." after the fact of course. and privately.
sometimes people need a damned backbone, even if for a few minutes. If the people who were her friends all stood up for her the two matriarchs would not have been able to claim such a large powerbase when deciding they didn't want her back.
sidenote, we had a king who had computer problems and went inactive for a bit. He upset many people with his strong arm tactics of makign them obey him and some of us were happy he was gone. we voted in a new queen who many of us liked. She never got a chance to be queen. days later he came back and assumed the mantle of king WITH NO VOTE.. the two matriarchs just basically gave him the title back by convincing enough votes. He sh ould never have been givin the crown again but they liked him so no questions asked. When my friend here tried to return they wanted a huge poll which would undoubtedly have many negs and no "friends" to support her.
sometimes i'm ashamed to be a person too.
but of course, i'm an idiot.
