Jim Purdie, a very dear friend of Maya's and a friend of Greg's, stood up with Greg as well. Maya was especially glad to get to see him and talk a little with him at the rehearsal dinner.
Garrett, Maya's son, along with Faeryn, Maya's daughter, escorted Maya down the aisle, and then joined the gentleman as a groomsman. One of his primary duties was keeping the mothers of the bridal couple smiling, and giving two-armed hugs whenever needed. He and the younger ushers, Timothy and Matthew, seemed to have a pretty good time together, and the three looked great in their matching wolf-shirts.
Malcolm Osborne, maternal uncle of the groom, was the "lead" usher. This poor man got the job of straightening the bride's train just as she prepared to walk down the aisle. If only we could have captured the look on his face when Carol told him he had to do this. *grin*
All the groom's attendants and the ushers wore gray slacks and navy blue blazers. They looked amazingly well matched - especially when you consider the various outfits were bought in 3 different states! Pictures of our handsome men will be posted here eventually.
