Who are The Stands? |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Home | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Stands are a four piece band from Liverpool who look set to be THE band of the year. The band are Howie Payne (Guitar and vocals), Luke Thompson (Guitar), Dean Ravera (Bass) and Steve Pilgrim (Drums). The band have recently toured with Jet and Alfie and count Noel Gallagher as a fan of their cross hybrid music. Without trying to label the band too much they have been described as The Byrds with Beach Boys harmonies topped off with some good rock instrumentals. They got together last year when Howie decided to put together a band who shared his love of music. He found the other members through going to the football and acoustic nights and then The Stands were born. They gigged around and got a demo together before going off on tour with The Burn in February which gained them a lot of attention. Also Noel Gallagher's interest in the band has done them no harm at all and has gained them a lot of press. There were also rumours that the band were to sign to Sour Mash with Noel but after great deliberation the band decided to sign to Echo in May. The band headed out on tour with Alfie in May which was a great success and then went straight onto a tour with Aussie rockers Jet. Ah, so this is The Stands so far but I'm sure there is plenty more to come...... |
