Top Tens
These top tens are totally original, just little things I wrote up when I was bored. So far they all have to do with Buffy. Enjoy!
Top Ten Scariest Episodes
10) The Puppet Show- just kind of creepy with Sid and everything.
9) Out of Mind, Out of Sight- the whole concept of becoming invisible because you are ignored definetely scares me.
8) Nightmares- Buffy the Vampire. Xander and the clown. Nuff said.
7) Halloween- the little kids turning into monsters? Scary.
6) Helpless- the whole part in the warehouse is scary, from the music to Kralik's wall of pictures.
5) Conversations With Dead People- the title pretty much explains it.
4) Listening to Fear- The Queller on the ceiling. Crazy Joyce. Very scary.
3) Passion- When Angelus is chasing Jenny through the school, it is heart stopping.
2) Killed By Death- the whole concept of killing kids in the hospital is scary. Also the setting doesn't help either, because who doesn't hate hospitals?
1) Hush- A classic thriller. The music is haunting, and the Gentlemen are extremely creepy.
Top Ten Tearjerker Episodes
10) Chosen- It was the last time we will probably ever see the Scooby Gang grace our television screens. Not to mention Spike and Anya. Just the finality of it definetely had me reaching for the tissues.
9) I Only Have Eyes For You- the scenes with Buffy and Angel at the end are heartbreaking. And the haunting use of the title song doesn't help.
8) Passion- As we watched Jenny's untimely death, and Giles's mourning, it became one of the first true tearjerker episodes of the series.
7) Wild At Heart- Who wants to see Willow this upset? Right from the look on her face when she finds Oz with Veruca to the heartbreaking final moments, this episode is definetely a tearjerker.
6) Innocence- It wouldn't be Joss's favorite episode if there wasn't considerable heartbreak involved. Buffy has to face all of her worst nightmares come true in this episode, and the cruelty of Angelus is painful to watch.
5) The Gift- Do I even have to say? She saved the world a lot. -sniffle-
4) Forever- The final moment between Buffy and Dawn is one of the most heartbreaking moments in the series.
3) The Body- Watching our beloved characters grieve over another well-liked character was extremely hard. A few moments that stand out are Anya's meltdown, Dawn's reaction to the news, and the entire 911 scene.
2) The Prom- I still cry every time. From the adorable teaser, to the wedding dream, to the final dance at the end. When Buffy cries to Willow in her room, her pain seems so real that we forget for a moment that it's only a television show.
1) Becoming- At the end, Buffy has to make the hardest choice ever, and everything has fallen apart for our heroine. Angel returns at exactly the wrong time, and from the moment Buffy realizes what she has to do, to when she tells him to close his eyes, we sat there feeling her pain. As she rides out of Sunnydale, the words "Now Leaving Sunnydale- Come Back Soon!" left us in agony all summer to find out how Joss would pick up the pieces after so much destruction.
Top Ten Funniest Episodes
10) A New Man- Demon Giles chasing Professor Walsh down the street. Enough said.
9) Triangle- From Anya and Willow's constant bickering to Anya's driving, this episode is a laugh riot.
8) The Zeppo- Xander's hilarious moments of triumph. "And he shall rise!" You've also gotta love werewolf Oz eating Jack. "Oddly full today." Yeah, no kidding.
7) Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewilderd- another Xander episode. All the girls chasing Xander through Sunnydale is hilarious, and besides, Buffy is a rat!
6) Life Serial- Makes me laugh every time. Highlights include Jonathan's magic bone, kitten poker, and Buffy's frustration at the Magic Box. Especially when she stomps on Giles's glasses.
5) Him- A classic episode. Highlights include Dawn's cheerleading, Buffy's "counseling" of RJ, and Anya the bank robber. This is truly an old-school Buffy, which was very welcome at this point of Season 7.
4) Living Conditions- "Isn't it the funnest?" Evil toenails, Buffy chugging the milk...the list goes on and on.
3) Something Blue- Another classic. Has anyone noticed how many funny episodes there are that involve one of Willow's spells going horribly wrong? My favorite part is when Buffy tells Riley she's getting married.
2) Tabula Rasa- The whole scene after they wake up is a riot. "Ready Randy?" "Ready Joan."
1) Intervention- The debut of the beloved BuffyBot. Her comments throughtout the entire episode are what make it so hilarious.
Top Ten Dawn Episodes
10) No Place Like Home- Finally we found out what the deal was with Dawn. It was creepy how they made her look evil though.
9) The Gift- Dawn is pretty much the center of this episode, and it is the end of her biggest storyline.
8) Lessons- Again a very Dawn centric episode. We see Dawn starting school, making friends, and learning to take care of herself. And Buffy finally takes her on a patrol! Also the debut of her new harido XD
7) Him- A very funny Dawn episode, I love the cheerleading. It's always great when everyone is under the influence of a spell.
6) Blood Ties- Dawn finally learns the truth, and this episode, one of my favorites, is about her learning to accept the truth. At the end Dawn and Buffy form an even closer bond that will help her deal through the rest of the season.
5) Older and Far Away- Dawn's year-long cry for help is finally answered by Halfrek. This is a turning point for Dawn's character.
4) Forever- We watch Dawn deal with grief, and attempt to take matters into her own hands. She shows that she really has a mind of her own. Her stealing also begins in this episode, something that will drive her storyline for the next year.
3) All the Way- Dawn's first kiss, and first heartbreak. This episode is really about Dawn maturing from a sometimes whiny kid to a rebellious teen.
2) Real Me- the introduction of Dawn. This episode is told from an interesting perspective, as we listen to Dawn's thoughts about her life.
1) Potential- This is the climax of Dawn's character. She finally understands that it can't always be about her, and she matures a great deal as she learns that she is not in fact a Potential Slayer. At this point Dawn has officially grown up. The final scene with Xander in which he calls her extroirdinary is a beautiful moment, because she was in this episode.
My Top Ten Favorite Episodes
10) Chosen- At first I didn't like this episode because it was the last. But I came to realize that it was the perfect ending to a wonderful show.
9) Ted- I just love this episode. It is funny, witty, and scary, and John Ritter is perfect (RIP). For those of you who don't like it, I beg to differ! lol
8) Intervention- This episode is hilarious, but at the same time the scene where Spike refuses to reveal the Key's identity is wonderful. And the final scene is beautiful, and Spike finally gets the recognition he deserves. Just a great episode.
7) A New Man- Demon Giles. I love it. It is a very funny episode revolving around one of my favorite characters. Need I say more?
6) Hush- A true classic. Will someone please give Joss an Emmy?
5) The Gift- A beautiful season finale for a great season. The final minutes are heartbreaking, and it still gets me every time.
4) Tabula Rasa- This episode is funny, yet still a turning point for the season. And Michelle Branch sings at the end. I actually met her, but froze up and forgot to tell her that I loved her on Buffy. :-(
3) Becoming- Part 1 and Part 2 are wonderful, edge-of-your-seat episodes that left us wanting more all summer.
2) Lovers Walk- I just love this episode so much. It's classic Buffy, plain and simple. There are the funny moments, and the sad ones. This episode is also a climax of the season. And James Marsters is brilliant. "I did it my way!"
1) Once More, With Feeling- Again, will some please give Joss an Emmy? The songs are brilliant and incredibly catchy, everyone gives great performances, and I could watch it again and again. It is bittersweet how everyone's fears and doubts are brought out in such a lovely way, setting the stage for the rest of the season.
Erin's Top Twelve Random Faves
These are my favorite episodes, excluding the classics, ie Becoming, OMWF. Just random eps that I am obsessed with for one reason or another. XD And it's twelve because I couldn't pick just ten.
12) Him- I just love this episode, it's so funny.
11) Pangs- Another one I just love. There is so much great dialogue, like Willow and Giles arguing about the Indians. And of course, "You made a bear! Undo it! Undo it!"
10) The Zeppo- A triumphant moment for Xander, and a true laugh riot. I could watch this one again and again.
9) Reptile Boy- lol, don't ask. I don't know, I just love this one. Especially Cordy's speech to Buffy before they go out, her parking job, and Willow yelling at Giles and Angel.
8) Living Conditions- Isn't it the funnest? I think it is. I love the part where Buffy bangs Xander and Oz's heads together.
7) Blood Ties- this is one that I remember instantly loving. Just a great episode overrall, and Michelle Trachtenberg is phenomenal.
6) Homecoming- It was a clothes fluke! I love that W/X moment. Also the whole Slayer Fest thing is great, and the horribly ironic ending is great in an awful way.
5) Intervention- So many fantastic moments. Did you know that Bob Barker is the key?
4) Ted- Another one I just love. "Beg to differ!"
3) A New Man- I already said enough about this one, see previous top tens.
2) Tabula Rasa- Again, I already said enough about this one. This ep has it all, the humor, the drama, and the angst.
1) Lovers Walk- what else? This episode is just great, and it contains my favorite quote ever (see very top of quotes page). I still watch it regularly.
Top Ten Worst Episodes
10) I Robot, You Jane- A lackluster plot, just an ok episode, which is bad for this show.
9) Doublemeat Palace- Weak for a Jane Espenson episode, lacks her usual humor. Overrall, just kind of stupid, plot wise. It has it's moments though, like Buffy's reaction to the introduction video.
8) Restless- Okay, please don't kill me. I have just never liked this episode. I do appreciate the hidden meanings, but it still makes no sense to me. -shrugs-
7) Superstar- I liked it better second time around, but originally it just bothered me. Yet it does have it's moments, like Giles's Jonathan Swimsuit Calendar.
6) As You Were- Why did Riley have to come back? And the helicopter stuff was just plain cheesey.
5) Seeing Red- The producers are so sick, putting Amber Benson in the credits and then killing her. And Spike is really despicable here too.
4) Beer Bad- Need I say more? Just....I can't even find words.
3) Into the Woods- Good thing- Riley leaves. Bad thing- the other 40 minutes of the episode. Have I mentioned that I don't like Riley?
2) Dead Things- This episode is too dark for me. And why did Buffy have to beat up Spike?
1) Where the Wild Things Are- Too much B/R. Had this episode been B/A, I would've loved it. Best part is Giles singing, and Willow's reaction to it.
