Where Are They Now?

Many of the former Port Charles actors have been busy since the cancellation. This page will provide recaps of what everyone is up to, and will be updated as new news becomes available. If you have any information that isn't listed here, please let me know. Thanks!

Michael Easton (Caleb) became the first cast member to sign with a new soap. He was approached by several different soaps, but chose One Life To Live, where he now plays John McBain. He debuted on October 1, 2003, and moved across country to New York to take the role. His character has become very important to the show, as John is central to the much talked about John/Evangeline/Natalie triangle.
Michael also recently revealed that he married his longtime girlfriend Ginevra Arabia in August 2004! Congratulations to them both!

Kelly Monaco (Livvie) was the second to sign with another soap. She was also given several offers, and made the move to General Hospital, where she now plays Samantha "Sam" McCall. Her debut was on October 3, 2003, the same day as the final episode of Port Charles. She has also become very essential to the storyline, with her character becoming a love interest for popular leading men Maurice Benard (Sonny) and Steve Burton (Jason).

Kelly and her partner professional dancer Alec Mazo are the WINNERS of the first season of ABC's smash hit summer reality series Dancing With the Stars. They worked dilligently on ballroom dances for two months and performed live for six consecutive weeks. The show paired celebrities with professional dancers in what turned out to be the number one summer tv series. Judges scores were combined with call-in viewer votes to eliminate one couple per week. After facing low scores and harsh criticism from the judges, as well as a wardrobe malfunction, Kelly proved that with hard work and determination you can do anything you set your mind to, earning the show's only perfect score of 30 for the final freestyle dance. Congratulations Kelly, the entire soap community is very proud of you.

On September 20th, there was a danceoff between Kelly and runner up John O'Hurley, due to the controversy surrounding Kelly's win (the fact that she was an ABC employee and that viewers didn't get to vote on the final performances). In this danceoff judges gave comments but they were not counted in the final scores. Kelly performed wonderfully, but sadly lost to John by less than 1% of the vote. However she did raise $124,000 through votes for the charity of her choice, The Katrina Hurricane Relief. Kelly, you will always be a winner in our hearts, and you are STILL the winner of the series! She is now enjoying her status as a household name, and recently appeared on MTV's Punk'd as Ashton Kutcher's latest victim.
More exciting Kelly news! Not only has Kelly been nominated for a 2006 Daytime Emmy in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category for General Hospital, but she has also been named to host the awards show along with Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron! Congratulations Kelly on this fantastic news! The awards show will air on ABC April 28th.

Thorsten Kaye (Ian) debuted as Zach Slater on All My Children in May 2004. His character was later revealed to be Alexander Cambias Jr, brother of favorite AMC villain Michael Cambias. Thorsten has received a 2006 Daytime Emmy nomination in the Lead Actor category for the role! Good luck to Thorsten! He was previously nominated twice in this category for his work as Ian on PC.

Julie Pinson (Eve) did a brief stint as Shiloh on The Young & The Restless in early 2004. However, the character was only recurring. She recently signed a deal with Days of Our Lives to be the new Billie Reed. Her first airdate was September 13, 2004. This was not the first time she auditioned for the role, as she bares uncanny resemblance to Lisa Rinna, who formerly played the role of Billie.

Brian Gaskill (Rafe) signed with The Bold & The Beautiful not long after the cancellation. He played Oscar "Ozzie" Marone starting in September 2003, but the character was cut back to recurring in 2004, and then eliminated. He also provided commentary for a Country Music Television Special in late 2004.
Brian married country singer Tonya Watts on December 20, 2003, and on September 26th, 2005, their first child, Alabama Zoey Gaskill, was born, weighing 5 pounds, 15 ounces! Mom and baby are doing great, and Brian is "ecstatic." Congratulations Brian and Tonya!
Brian did aanother brief stiny as BJ Green on As The World Turns from September 27th, 2005 to late 2005.

Jed Allan (Ed) is portrayed Edward Quartermaine on General Hospital beginning March 1, 2004. He was cut back to recurring sometime after the death of his on-screen wife Lila, and then eventually removed from the canvas.

Erin Hershey Presley (Alison) was a finalist for the new cohost spot on The View in fall 2003. Unfortunately, the spot went to former Survivor contestant Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She was also the subject of various rumors about a possible return to daytime, but nothing has panned out so far. She also appears in husband Brian's indepedent film Guarding Eddy.
Since the cancellation, Erin has also landed parts in two comedy pilots that failed to get picked up. In 2004 it was an NBC show entitled D.O.T.S., about a group of meter maids. Erin went brunette for the role. Then most recently in 2005, her ABC pilot Marsha Potter Gets a Life, about a middle aged woman who leaves her family and starts over, also failed. Erin was to play a neighbor of the title character.
Erin has appeared as a guest star in two popular sitcoms. She played "Nicole" in the January 13th, 2005 episode of NBC's Will and Grace. The episode was titled Partners. Erin also appeared in the April 22nd episode of The WB's new show, Living With Fran, starring Fran Drescher. The episode wass called The Reunion, and she played "Susan." She also appeared in the 2005 episode So I Creep of the tv series All of Us.
The latest Erin rumor was that she may possibly be taking over the role of Courtney on General Hospital from Alicia Leigh Willis. Her name came up right away, and ABC Daytime President Brian Frons has said that "Erin would be a groovy Courtney!" Erin herself said that she has been informally approached about taking the role, but unfortunately, the decision was made to kill the character off instead. Lets keep our fingers crossed for more daytime opportunities for Erin! She is currently filming the indie "Americanizing Shelley", which is due for release in 2006. It is about a wannabe Hollywood player that sets out to Americanize an Indian girl from the Himalayas. Erin plays Nicole.

Brian Presley (Jack) filmed a movie that he also worked behind the scenes on called Guarding Eddy. In the movie, a developmentally handicapped young man comes to L.A. to pursue his dream of playing professional basketball for the Clippers. It also costars wife Erin, Kiko Ellsworth, and Marie Wilson. The film did well at festivals, winning 4 awards at the Boston International Film Festival, including best Actor for Brian and Best Picture. The film has an official website with many photos and bios of actors and crew, that can be found here. The film was slated for release on October 28th, 2005.
Brian also completed another film, called End Game. He plays "Billy Bergoon." The film also stars Cuba Gooding Jr. and Angie Harmon. The film will be released on dvd on May 2nd, 2006. Brian is currently filming the movie "Home of the Brave" in Washington, near the childhood home of wife Erin! He plays "Tommy." The film is described as the story of three soldiers who struggle to readjust to life at home after returning home from a lengthy tour in Iraq. The extremely star-studded cast includes 50 Cent, Jessica Biel, Samuel L. Jackson, and Christina Ricci! Way to go Brian! It is slated for a 2007 release.

This is an adorable picture of Brian and Erin from the 2004 Daytime Emmys in May 2004. They also held a fan event the day after. Brian was nominated for the 2nd and final time for his role as Jack on Port Charles. Erin had previously earned a nomination for her work as Alison in 2003.

Kiko Ellsworth (Jamal) was in Bad Boys 2 with Will Smith. He played the villain "Blonde Dread." He is also in The Presleys' movie, Guarding Eddy.
Kiko guest starred in the March 1st, 2005 episode of CBS's NCIS, entitled Pop Life. He played Willie Taylor. He also appeared in two episodes of Strong Medicine in 2005, two episodes of UPN's Cuts as Loxley in 2005-2006, and most recently in an early 2006 episode of ABC's new hit sitcom Freddie. The episode was titled Recipe For Disaster, and he played Spyder. IMDB says that Kiko also is in the films Will to Power as Malik Thomas, and is currently filming Lords of the Underworld, as Nipper.

Carly Schroeder (Serena) filmed the movie Mean Creek that also stars Rory Culkin. It is about a group of teenagers involved in an accidental murder. The film got excellent reviews at festivals, and is now out on dvd. The cast of Mean Creek won a Special Distinction Award from the Independent Spirit Awards 2005. Carly attended and accepted the award onstage with the rest of the cast. For more info on the movie click here.
Carly appeared in an episode of CBS's Cold Case entitled The Sleepover. It aired November 7th, 2004. Carly said on her official website that she really enjoyed working on the show, and that it was an amazing script that she is proud to have done.
Carly was in the recently released feature film Firewall (previously titled The Wrong Element), in which she plays the daughter of Harrison Ford's character, Sarah Stanfield! The film also stars Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen and Paul Bettany. The plot is that with his family held for ransom, the head security executive for a global bank is commanded to loot his own business for millions in order to ensure his wife and children's safety. He then faces the demanding task of thwarting the kidnapper's grand scheme, which makes him look guilty of embezzlement. Carly attended the film's premiere (see the gorgeous image above!), and was on the film's poster. Congratulations Carly on your amazing achievemtns!
She also recently completed the short film We All Fall Down, a period piece in which she played Charity.
Carly recently completed the movie Eye of the Dolphin, in which she played Alyssa. She is now in South Africa filming Prey, in which she plays Jessica Newman. The movie is about an American family on holiday in Africa that becomes lost in a game reserve and is stalked by lions. It stars Bridget Moynahan.

Marie Wilson (Karen) appears in the Presleys' movie Guarding Eddy, as well as a commercial for Linens and Things.
Marie has now joined the cast of CBS's As The World Turns! She plays Holden's trouble making sister Meg Snyder (last played by Jennifer Ashe). Marie's first airdate was in June 2005! Congratulations to her on her return to daytime.

Ion Overman (Gabriella) has done lots of tv work, appearing on Showtime's The L Word as Candace in 5 episodes. She is also in the new UPN comedy Love Inc. The show follows Denise Johnson, an energetic, pragmatic young woman who takes pride in her success as a full-service dating consultant. As the female version of a "wingman," this savvy matchmaker and her quirky co-workers help lovelorn single men, and even women, present the best image possible to just the right prospects. Skilled at helping her clients find their seemingly unattainable soulmates, Denise continues to grapple with her inability to find one herself. Ion plays "Viviana."

Rebecca Staab (Elizabeth) appeared in the 9/26/04 episode of FX's racy Nip/Tuck. The episode was titled Sean McNamara, and she only appeared in about the first five minutes, but was credited as a guest star. Be warned, her scene was very R rated. In addition to this, Rebecca appeared on the November 16th episode of CBS's Navy NCIS, in the episode entitled Terminal Leave. Most recently, Rebecca appeared in the CSI:NY episode Zoo York in late 2005 as Jessica Freemont, and the original CSI: in early 2006 as Chelsea in Daddy's Little Girl.

John Lindstrom is also now busy with a film career, producing the movie The Hard Easy (starring Nick Lachey and David Boreanaz). However, he is still very much involved in acting. He played Peter in the 2005 Diane Lane romantic comedy Must Love Dogs, and appeared on an early 2006 episode of the WB's Everwood as Bill Schmicker in the episode "Across the Lines." Most recently, he played Martin Sidley in the early 2006 episode of CSI: entitled Up in Smoke.

Kimberlin Brown (Rachel) joined One Life to Live in the contract role of Paige Miller in October 2004. She made her final appearance in July, due to ABC being unable to meet her contract demands, along with problems with commuting. The role has since been recast. Kimberlin is now reprising her Emmy nominated role of Sheila Carter on The Young and the Restless. She previously appeared regularly in this role from 1992-1998 on Y&R's sister soap the Bold and the Beautiful, then appeared in a recurring capacity during 2002-2003. This film is slated for release in July 2006.

Jay Pickett (Frank) recently filmed a movie for Pax TV called Landslide. Exciting news: Jay will temporarily take over the tole of Lorenzo Alcazar on GH from March 24-27th 2006 while actor Ted King undergoes throat surgery. Be sure to watch Jay in his return to Port Charles!

If anyone has any additional information about what PC actors are up to these days, please email me. It can be about someone who is already on this page, or someone who's not. I would also love any pictures from any of the appearances mentioned here that do not have one. I would credit you for your contribution. Thanks, and much continued success to the Port Charles cast!
