Self Hypnosis in Education As in any specific application, self hypnosis is most effective when it is part of a well thought out plan of action. In the case of education, the suggestion portion of a hypnosis may be tailored to the educational needs of the particular person using the hypnosis in an effort to prepare the student for troublesome educational tasks that inevitably present throughout schooling, since most educational skills and situations may be predicted, though the actual learning matter may change. Obstacles do not generally disappear in new educational circumstances, they are apparent regardless of grade and subject. Thus, the diagnosis of what is recurrently lacking for the student is crucial. Often, the answer is at the fingertips of the person him/herself, and has been more or less secretly identified already. Especially with children (though this may be equally true for many adult learners, as well) the problem may never have been articulated, simply because no one asked the question. As in other personal hypnosis applications, a custom self hypnosis, seems best for tackling the specific problems invloved in education. It is just about impossible to concieve of so broad a set of suggestions to be included in a single hypnosis, that they could successfully encompass every area of educational difficulty. The closer one comes to the exact solution, the better the chance for seeing a positive result. If, for example, the student has trouble concentrating attention on the topic at hand, this could be the focus of a suggestion. Then again, there is, perhaps, undue anxiety experienced before and/or during an examination. In some cases, the discipline necessary to complete homework, or to postpone "fun" activities until the required studying has been accomplished is weak. Each observed educational hurdle will lead logically to its own solution, which may then be carefully worded as a self hypnosis suggestion. |
