CARBON WOOD ROCKING CHAIRS
The chair to the left is made of a wood commonly referred to as CARBON, the Astronium Graveolens is a large canopy tree, attaining diameters of 24 to 40 inches, and heights of 120 feet tall. Another common name some may know is Goncalo Alves.
When freshly cut the heartwood is brown, orange, or reddish brown to red with narrow to nearly black stripes. The wood often has a striking figure caused by irregular dark longitudinal lines.

It is not difficult to work in spite of its high density; it finishes smoothly, and takes a high polish.
CARBON is highly favored for fine furniture, pool cues, and jewelry boxes. We have searched, and to our knowledge we are the only people manufacturing solid CARBON furniture.
