Peter Rogers B-B-Q June 25th

It was that time once again to meet up with friends and chat to the stars in the magical Pinewood studios but this time at no cost just a very kind and generous invite by the lovely Mr Peter Rogers.

I arrived at Pinewood with my friend Shez once again with the nerves kicking in and a quick fumbling for my lost ticket but as Rob Ross said your face is your ticket which sums it all up with theese events. You get to know everyone and all the regulars and see the same friendly faces each time. Which is a delight.

Once again walking thorough the corridors adorned with photos of past films made in Pinewood and the Big painting of Kenny Williams watching us fans making out way in to be Kindly greeted by Peter Rogers and to be handed free Wine or orange juice. And throughout the day all Wine and Soft drinks were very kindly free.
Then it was time to spot the usual gang. Immediately i found the friendly faces of Ted, Robert, Barbara and husband. and one or two others. Who it was lovely to see once again.
As usual the Sales table was swarming with people parting with their money.
Scanning round trying find Tinny i found him at the sales table then we found Neil, Julian ,David and Mel. It was great to see everyone again.
After a quick whip around the sales table we found Jack Douglas and ascended on him for some signings. And what a lovely chap he is very friendly and pleasant. A pleasure to meet him once again.
Then we spotted Brian Rawlinson sat outside in the lovely weather. Warm and sunny.
I have to say just how nice Mr Rawlinson was. He was so friendly. I just kept thinking of him in 'Cruising'. He hardly looks any different. A really nice man. Happy to sign away for us eager fans.

The smell of B-B-Q was around with several big B-B-Q's  sizzling away. And the usual jokes about sausages.
It was time to eat. While queuing Peter Rogers kindly handed plates to everyone. With a lovely variety of food to chose from there was something to please everyone. As always the food was a high standard.
With lots of chat and laughter we had a enjoyable lunch. Im met several new people whom I had seen from previous occasions at Pinewood. And it was a pleasure to get chatting to them.
After the main course people started shuffling around to get ready to Hear Peters speech and as usual he expressed his love for the fans emotionally which I think is very touching every time. And With a few words from Jack Douglas and Norman Hudis. Peter gave a lovely bouquet of special flowers to a young lady.
While listening to the speech I was scanning the fans to spot the man himself Andy Davidson. after someone pointing him out to me I went up and said hello. And Andy you really don't look like the guy in that Picture! (grin)
It was great to meet him and say hi to one or two other people.
We all decided to take a tour of the Pinewood Gardens so Mel and i took a walk around. And the Gardens are really pretty.
After bumping into tinny and the rest of the gang we found a cave. And the set for 'The Mummy II' Which caused the need for us to later give people a guide tour to the Pinewood cave. Which was a good laugh!...
As the afternoon drew to a end we all settled for a few drinks and were joined most pleasantly by Peter Rogers and Audrey Skinner. Peter kept us highly amused by telling us jokes and stories. It was a real pleasure to have him and Audrey sit with us and chat. He's such as a nice man as im sure everyone would agree with.
Sadly we had to leave at 4.30 so after sad goodbyes to Peter ,Audrey and everyone else a bunch of us including Andy Davidson, Tinny Mel etc went onto a local pub to finish the day off. We had just as much fun there with lots of drink and laughter going into the evening.
I cant say how much i enjoyed myself. It was such a ball. So many nice people full of laughter. It was great and my best time at Pinewood yet. I liked the fact it was so relaxed with the whole afternoon to chat to everyone and the stars. Very relaxing.
Thank you Peter it will be a day I will never forget!...
