Its Heroes Week in Zimbabwe and we are celebrating our heroes and heroines, many of whom died in the fight for freedom. This is a cause for which, in the many parts of the world, many are still fighting. To all those who sacrificed their lives, we salute you.

Freedom is one of the most important issues the world over with disputes ranging from country take-overs to women's rights to parents' curfews. It seems like almost everybody wants to be let loose from control of one sort or another.

The Oxford Dictionary defines freedom in following ways:

"Not fixed or held down, able to move without hindrance, unrestricted, not controlled by rules, not in the power or authority of others, having private rights that are respected"

I reached a place in my life once where the words written above were a kind of heaven. I felt constrained by the pressure of working a job I did not enjoy, surviving on a shrinking paycheck. I was held down by society's expectation of me to be climbing its ladder by moving out on my own, buying appliances, getting married and progressing in the 'normal' way of life. My life seemed restricted, almost mapped out, in a way which lead to a place I did not want to go!

"True freedom is not something you grasp but something you become. It is born out of the determination to be and express yourself fully." For me, this includes using my talents and abilities to reach out to my community . One of the products of that desire is this website which you are browsing now!

I have found a band of brothers who are willing to take up the cause with me. Together we hold dear the fight for what we consider to be the highest form of freedom - the right to be who you are. Read about our exploits as we seek God, live life and impact others...
