Here we go, Annaliese's Disneyland Trip:
November 9th-11th, 2002
SATURDAY

It's our band trip! Every year, the Marching band goes to Fresno to participate in the Fresno State band day. We wake up at 4:00 to get there and practice, then participate in the half-time show at the football game that night. Our Bass Drummers got fireworks in their eyes. Ouch. I won't linger on this subject much, it was boring. Anywho, we left the game after half time to head down to our hotel near Disneyland.

On the way down, we watched Blues Brothers and the Nightmare before Christmas. We stopped at a convenence store and I got some gum, Red Fusion and Pepsi Blue. My friend Junaid and I tried to make purple soda, and we kinda succeeded. We also made teal soda.

We got to our hotel, The Tropicana Inn after midnight. We got into our rooms and fell asleep pretty quickly.

SUNDAY

The damn alarm clock in the room woke us up at 6:30. We were supposed to be ready by 8ish, so we were pretty angry. Then the snooze went off ten minutes later and we all started to get ready.
At 8ish, we all gathered, went across the street to D-Land(from our room we could see Space Mountain), got our meeting times and our tickets and entered the park.

Ahhh.... Disneyland... what a wonderous place. We split into groups(mine consisted of four percussionists and our assistant drum major) and headed out. Our first stop was Star Tours. Yay! Nathan, one of the percussionists, decided to call all the "Disney Crew" by their names(on their name tags). So, we all joined in. It was fun. We went to several other rides that morning...like Big Thunder Mountain, where we asked the train operator to show us his train permit. We decided, in addition to talking to the Disney Crew, to sing in every line. We sang "You are my Sunshine." When we sang it at the Pirates of the Caribbean, people actually clapped for us. A lot of people, too. ^_^  When we went to Indiana Jones and sang, some guy told us we were ruining the park. We also went on Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion before lunch.

Get this: They update the Haunted Mansion between Halloween and early January. They turn it into the Haunted Mansion Holiday, and change it all to be Nightmare Before Christmas Themed. It was AWESOME. The outside was really cooo, it had Jack, his sled, his equation for Christmas, pumpkins, pumpkin men... it was tight. And the inside was all changed too. EVERYTHING was changed. It was freaking sick. I took pictures. I'll get them scanned soon.

At the French Square(a restuarant) we met Ryan, the evil employee. We were smacking each other around(ok, only Jonny), and Ryan comes up to us and says to Jonny, "Well, aren't you the bitch?" Shock! There were little kids there! It's supposed to be the happiest place on earth! Why was he swearing? He got angry when we told him he should not swear and that it wasn't the southern hospitality we were expecting. He threatened to kick us out. For lunch I had Oogie Boogie... er... something... it was clam chowder in a bread bowl, but it had a little fried thing that looked like Oogie. Coolness.

After lunch, we did some other rides, Storybook land, Autopia(I got a Driver's License!), and er... that's all.

At 1:45 we had to meet up to get ready for the parade(did I mention we were in the Disneyland Parade of the Stars parade?). We went behind the scenes, where they gave us strange instructions: No photography(oh no! your secret of werehouses in the back of park may get out!), you must wear your shoes at all times, and you can't change on the band bus(it's a working environment, you know). We had to change in a dressing room.

Well, the parade was way long. My feet hurt. After we got to change(in the changing rooms of course), and got to use the vending machine. Wheee... they sodas are about one third the price there. Yay. I felt so privlaged. I tried to annoy people by going outside the changing rooms without shoes, but nothing happened. Oh well. We got cool "Magic Music Days" T-shirts.

We made a new group, and I went off with three guys, Nathan, Jonny, and Junaid. It was great. We got Fast Passes for Space                                    Mountain, then went on the Tea Cups, Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin, Mr. Toad's Woild's Ride(Nathan likes Mr.                                    Toad) and the Jungle Cruise. Then we rode Space Mountain as a group(our old group plus some color guard                                       members). It was fun. We split into groups again(the same ones as before), but not before meeting up with another                              group and planning to ride "it's a small world"(you know, it has no capitals? Wierd, eh?). We got Fast Passes for it                            for 11:15ish. The group split and our group went to Inoventions, where Junaid and I took the name Larry and Moe                              and participated in a game show on entertainment. It was fun, but the guy was biased. Everyone's a winner there,                              though. Junaid gave our Kim Possible prize pack to a little girl,. I think she was scared of us. Poor thing. They had                             Kingdom Hearts on eight stations, so I played for a while. They also had a Sora statue. The last thing                                                we went to was a virtually car thingy. We sang to the operator(Jeff) but he got angry when we went                                                  to our second song. He was mean. MEAN!!! Evil  Jeffypoo.

Then we go some dinner(lol, it was past 9) and rode on Pirates of the Carribean and the Haunted Mansion Holiday again.
We were running late for our small world meeting time, so Junaid and I ran back to inform the group the otehr's would
be on the way. We chatted until the last two members of the group arrived(they had been stuck in the Haunted
Mansion... it stopped).

Our trip on small world was...interesting... Our boat was all band members. We rocked the boat from side to side, and would all lean to one side on turns until we hit the side and stopped. Then the boat behind us got too close, so we all reached out to the sides of the ride and pulled ourselves along until we were at a good speed. Then we rocked it somemore. It was a perfect ending to the day.

We got back to the hotel and in my room, we showed off our purchases. I got a
cool Haunted Mansion Holiday t-shirt. We were tired, but wanted to eat popcorn
and party. The parents wouldn't let us.

MONDAY

We stared back. I felt sick. Maybe it was because I barely ate anything at D-Land(I was too excited, me thinks). We watched Nutty Professor 2. I didn't like it. Then we watched X-Men(yay!), got lunch(Subway for me!), and watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. We got home about 5ish.

The weekend was excellent. Life is good.
