CHINA

2002
I finally made it to Shanghai for the first time and was completely charmed by it. It has that up-and-coming feeling - lots to do, lots to see. But you still know you are in China! Something to do with the dust and the spitting.

Pudong District, just across the river from The Bund, is a mass of new skyscrapers. This is the building that houses the Grand Hyatt. Check in on the 54th floor please.

April 2002

Alaina and I adored the facilities.
The literature wasn't bad either.
What would China be if it didn't have a theme park of its self? This is part of the market at Yu Yuan gardens. Actually it's the view from the window of the tea house that serves the best crab dumplings in Shanghai (that's what they told us anyway!)
Even Chinese tourists love that traditional Shanghainese architecture. A shame we all had to adore it at the same time.
Alaina stands in a moon gate at Yu Yuan.
At Easter we brunched on the terrace at M on The Bund. Highly recommended!
Sometimes it's just for fun isn't it?
Kentucky Fried Qing. Need I say more?
