NEWS 22 November 2004 to 20 June 2005 |

20 June 2005. Americana are now advertising the new Casca story The Outcast; its read by Tim Nelson and is 3 hours long. However this story is unlikely to be released in paperback form so the only way you'll get to hear the story is by getting the audio CD. Go to the Audio page on this website as detailed below. *************** 17 June 2005. I've added a new page, a cover page for the Casca movie. It gives a summary of what has happened so far. Also I've tightened up the Casca Audio page, making it easier to read. I've also learned that the new audio book Casca: The Outcast is set in the 19th century and covers Casca's banishment to Australia. *************** 3 June 2005. Looking at the reviews of all 24 Casca books on www.amazon.com makes interesting reading; the best books from readers' reviews appear to be numbers 1,2,3,5,7 and 11 with 5-star ratings. Those with between 4 and 5 stars are numbers 4, 6, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 18 and 22. The 3-star to 3.5 star books are numbers 8, 16, 17, 19 and 23, while the ones with the lowest ratings (in descending order) are 13, 20, 24 and 21. *************** 9 May 2005. I've added two new pictures to the timeline pages; first is Kate Parnell, the female pirate Casca met in the Pirate - that's on TimelineTen; then I've put in a WW1 German attack picture on TimelineThirteen page. ************** 2 May 2005. I've changed the period of time for visits to the various book pages to count towards the percentage scores on the Booklist page. I've set it for the past 4 years up to now but noticed that a few books had for some reason had their history wiped out prior to July 2003. So that's the start date from now on. Its made little difference to the order but the percentages have gone down for all the top 7 except for the Eternal Mercenary. *************** 1 April 2005. A new as yet un-named author is to write the further adventures of Casca in the series. The release date is not yet known but the book will be titled Casca: The AntiChrist and will take place in the period 1990-2004. Keep watching this website for further news. *************** 31 March 2005. The third and final Paul Dengelegi Casca story, The Outcast, is due for release by Americana Publishers on 1 June 2005. This story, number 25 in the series, wil NOT be issued in paperback form. To order it visit the booklist page on this site and click on the link to Americana. *************** 25 February 2005. It does look now that Paul Dengelegi will not be writing any more Casca stories. His last book, The Outcast, was due for release this year but problems with scheduling and content means thatit is unlikely to be released in paperback form. However, good news is that it may well be released as an audio book. Further news on this when I get it. *************** 18 February 2005: I'm trying to confirm news that Paul Dengelegi's involvement in writing further Casca stories has ended. It would appear this is the case, but confirmation will hopefully be forthcoming shortly. Any further news on the next book from whatever source will be posted here as soon as I can verify any. *************** 5 February 2005: I've gone through all the existing pages of the website and corrected a few links that didn't work or went to the wrong page, and I've made corrections to each page that were incomplete through Netscape. Any problems I'd like to hear from you if you come across them. Thanks. *************** 31 January 2005: All 24 current Casca books are available in audio format from Americana Publishing, and I have included a link on the audio page. *************** 24 January 2005: Fascinating book I was informed of the other day is a parallel to the Casca story; it's called "My First Two Thousand Years" and was written by George Sylvester Viereck and Paul Eldridge and was published around 1928 which could have been read by Barry Sadler and formed part of his inspiration to write the Casca series. Readers may like to compare the two stories and see how much they co-incide. See this book on www.amazon.com. *************** 22 November 2004: News just reached me that author Paul Dengelegi is currently writing his third Casca book to be published by new publishers Americana Publishing, and I expect it to be out sometime in 2005 if all goes well. No word of course as yet as to the period of history it covers or the title but as soon as I hear I'll let you know. |
