***for those of you who wonders what Robert looks like, try and picture a mid-thirties Alec Baldwin**
"-Where are you taking me? Elizabeth shouted
-You’ll see. Answered Robert"
Elizabeth, not that she would admit it to anyone, was loving the feeling of his body close to her in this most intimate position. She blushed violently at the though and buried her head in his back. Robert smiled. His plan was working.
He took her everywhere, they rode every streets in town, they passed in front of Audrey Hardy’s old house, the Spencers’ which Lulu was wondering who was the guy on the motorcycle that kept honking at her, the docks, and finally, she recognized the woods. He was taking her to the boxcar. The bike made its way through the trees, riding on the grass and finally, Robert stopped it in front of the door and killed the engine.
"-So, it wasn’t so bad, was it? He asked with a grin
-No, it was actually quite cool. Elizabeth answered with a smile. And you aren’t a bad rider for an old man"
Robert shoved her before climbing in the boxcar. He held out his hand and helped her in. The paint was faded, but everything was still there. The floor was swept and there was a picnic basket in front of the fridge.
"-When did you come here? Elizabeth asked
-Didn’t. My son did. Why do you think I took you around PC? So he’d have time to set this up
-What do you want from me Lucky? She asked softly
-What I can’t take you out to lunch? He asked innocently
-Oh come on Lucky, I’m not blonde you know. You show up at my door, dressed like every girl’s fantasy, you knew how much I dreamed about getting up on a motorcycle like Stephanie Zinone in Grease 2, and bam, you show up out of nowhere, like my cool rider or something.
-Ok, I admit it, I asked Lucky’s help. I went to buy a motorcycle because I wanted to make you flip out. Happy now?
-Very"
Robert laughed and saw Elizabeth get closer to him with a funny look in her eyes. Robert stepped back and went to the picnic basket. He took the blanket out and put it on the floor, asking Elizabeth to sit down. He sat facing her and opened the basket.
"-Let’s see what we have here, shall we? He asked
-I’m sure you already know, don’t you?
-Actually I picked out the menu.
-What are we having?
-Ribs and cheese fries, from Eli’s, of course, and pretzels for dessert
-Sounds delicious."
Robert gave her the plate with her food, and took his. They talked about everything and anything, all except their personal lives. She talked about her art, he talked about his company. He told her what his life was like for the missing 17 years, and she did the same. Finally, they started talking about their feelings. Slowly, like they could slip at any moment, they started to open up.
Robert told her about the desperation he felt when he realized she married Nikolas. He told her how alone he felt when he left Port Charles the night of the fire at Luke’s, how he vowed to himself never to let anyone in his heart again. Elizabeth was listening to him, not saying anything.
"-You know, for the longest time, I didn’t think about you. It was survival. Besides, Robert didn’t know you, so whenever I was nostalgic, I would just go into my "Robert mode" as Kiara said so often, and just forget about ever having feelings for you. When I learned that Faison was dead and I could come back here, I threw myself in my work not to think about "Accidently" running into you, to just know if you would recognize me, even though I’m not who I used to be.
-I would’ve known Lucky. Elizabeth answered softly.
-You are the only person who can call me Lucky. He whispered with a smile
-I wouldn’t call you any other name. Not matter what you look like now, no matter how many years passed by, how much we changed, you will always be my Lucky, the love of my life"
Robert silently got up and extended his hand to her. She smiled at him and took it. He helped her up and walked to the radio in the corner and pushed play. He went back to Elizabeth and took her in a tight embrace, slowly dancing to the music, as he sang the words to her;
"What if I never knew
What if I never found you
I'd never have this feeling in my heart
How did this come to be
I don't know how you found me
But from the moment I saw you
Deep inside my heart I knew
Baby you're my destiny
You and I were meant to be
With all my heart and soul
I give my love to have and hold
And as far as I can see
You were always meant to be, my destiny
I wanted someone like you
Someone that I could hold on to
And give my love until the end of time
But forever was just a word
Something I'd only heard about
But now you're always there for me
When you say forever I believe
Baby you're my destiny
You and I were meant to be
With all my heart and soul
I give my love to have and hold
And as far as I can see
You were always meant to be, my destiny
Maybe all we need, is just a little faith
'Cause baby I believe that love will find the way
Baby you're my destiny
You and I were meant to be
With all my heart and soul
I give my love to have and hold
And as far as I can see
From now until eternity
You were always meant to be, my destiny"
As the song finished, Robert leaned down and gently kissed Elizabeth. The kiss grew more passionate as she threw her arms around his neck to bring him closer to her. With his arms around her waist he brought her body so close to his, they were nearly melting into one another. Elizabeth started to kneel down and Robert followed her, both their knees on the blanket. He gently pushed her and she laid down on the blanket, while he went half-way on top of her. His hands were caressing her sides, their breathing was more and more labored, her hands untucking his shirt from his pants, their tongues dancing together sensually. Robert was attacking the button of her blouse when his cell phone rang. He cursed, his lips still on Elizabeth’s, but got up and took the phone from his jacket.
"-I’m sorry Elizabeth, it might be important. He said, kissing her as he opened his phone. Someone better be dead! He said into the phone
-Dad, it’s Lucky, how is your plan going?
-Someone’s not dead but about to. Robert said. What do you want?
-Looks like I interrupted something. Well this can’t wait. A man called. He said he is Kiara’s father and he is coming by the house in an hour.
-WHAT? How the hell did this happened?
-I don’t know. He said his name is Thomas. And he wants to meet Kiara and she agreed, but not without you. So you need to come right away. Sorry about your plans.
-I’ll be right there with Elizabeth"
Robert hung up and explained the situation to Elizabeth, apologizing time and time again. They hopped on his bike, Elizabeth holding him close, still thinking about the sensations it gave her to have him kissing her, caressing her, pressing her.
They arrived at the house and got in, Robert holding Elizabeth’s hand. They sat on the couch, no one was saying anything, they were all deep in their thoughts, thinking about the implication of Kiara’s father coming into their lives. Finally, Robert spoke.
"-Kiara, your mother told me he was a violent mad. Both physically and mentally. I want someone with you at all times when you meet him OK?
-Don’t worry. I see him now and then no more"
The doorbell rang at that exact moment. Robert got up and went to the door. He asked who it was through the door and the man answered he was Kiara’s father. Robert opened the door and came face to face with someone from his past. Someone he wished he never crossed path with. Someone who changed his life and not for the better on many level. Someone Robert often thought about killing with his own two hands. Tom Baker.
