Lucky asked his son, while they were sitting at the kitchen table, both kids playing on the floor with toys. The kitchen was filled with laughter and cooing from the babies. Little Luke was actually bigger than his "aunt", because she was a premature baby. The doctor had told Lucky she would probably be always smaller and probably more sick than the kids around her. But still, Little Luke didn't see the difference. She was just another baby he could play with.
"-That isn't my mother.
-LJ come on. Are you actually doubtingg that I don't know Elizabeth's own handwriting?"
When Lucky changed his name back, they decided to change his son's nickname to LJ, for Lucky Junior. The only person who refused to call him that, like Elizabeth refused to call Lucky Robert, was Kiara, saying she didn't have to change his name since she called Lucky dad.
"-No, I'm saying that she didn't write this on her own free will. Come on dad, when I told her you were alive, I saw her eyes lit up. She loved you for 17 years. Half of her life, she was in love with you, she couldn't forget about you, even though she thought you were dead. Now she knows you are alive, you have a child with her, you have a chance to raise her together, and she would just take off? I don't believe it. She knows you still love her, you told her as much, and she could have you if she wanted. Instead she took off. That doesn't sound like her. My mother is a lot of things, and even if she didn't want to have anything to do with you, she wouldn't run off on her children. Because she is a good mother, and she loves everyone of us with all she can. Lani is her last little baby, she wouldn't have just left her like that, even if she knew she was out of danger. She wanted her. She couldn't wait until she was born. Thing about it dad."
Actually, the very same thoughts had been going through Lucky's mind since he calmed down about the letter. Even the old Elizabeth wouldn't have been that cruel to him. If someone had her, he would need help to get her back. And there was only one person he knew who could do it. Luke.
After LJ left with little Luke, Lucky packed a bag and put Lani in her car seat. He went to the club, which had been rebuilt and walked into his father's office, to find Luke down on the books. His face lit up when he saw his son.
"-Hey there Cowboy, don't tell me you were missing me.
Lucky read it over and over again, and the only thing he could see as being a cry for help was her "set me free" but with everything else, it could be really what she said it to mean. Lucky saw his father read the letter with his glasses, and he saw him frown. Was he onto something?
"-What's the thing with the closet? Luke asked. Is she afraid of the dark?
Lucky wondered what he meant by it but didn't ask, as Luke was still deep into his reading. Finally, he put it down again and looked at Lucky.
"-What about the rest of her life thing?
Lucky took a big breath to clear his mind. He looked at his father and sighed.
"This is so amazing. That you and I would be standing here, and you'd be saying these things to me. I am so honored to be who you love. This time last year, I couldn't find a way out of the pain, and the shame. I never thought I'd smile, or laugh again. And then I looked up, and you were there, and you took my hand, and you made me walk right back into the rest of my life, all the way to here. A place that's good, and pure, and safe, and I am so full inside, it hurts. You have my heart. That's a permanent lock. Everything I am is in love with you. My soul, my mind, my body, my spirit. That'll never change. I pledge myself to you Lucky, today, forever."
Lucky felt his father's hand on his and he wondered why, until he felt the tears down his cheek. He angrily wiped them and Luke went back to his reading, and Lucky saw him take notes. A couple of minutes passed and Luke threw the notes to him.
"-These are her messages to you Cowboy. She really was kidnapped, and held against her will."
Lucky took the sheet in his hands and looked at his father. He had written passages from the letter. The first one was ; I don't need you to come and get me out of a dark closet, where I am so scared all I can do is stare, unable to walk because my legs just bail out under me. Please Lucky, I beg of you, let me go. Set me free. Luke wrote next to it is she so scared she can't even think, is she paralyzed by fear again? Lucky recognized the second passage, and he started to think like his father; my life is here now. There is nothing I can do about that, But I don't need you to take my hand and help me to walk right back in the rest of my life. Once again, Lucky read his father's thoughts, does she need him to do like for the rape? Be her salvation from her everlasting nightmare? She is in trouble. But who has her? Helena is nearly dead, and Liz killed Tom herself. Who's left?
Lucky looked at his father with tears in his eyes. Why didn't he saw the messages himself? He, who most of his life claimed to know Elizabeth more than anyone else, needed his father's help to figure her out. She was reaching out to him and he turned his back on her, thinking she had changed so much she would leave him out in the cold like that, without even a good-bye to his face. He was feeling bad now, and he had to find her to tell her he was sorry he failed to protect her, again.
"-So, did I find what you were looking for? Luke asked quietly
Luke was right. Stuff started to happen to Elizabeth when Lucky made himself known in town again. Elizabeth, the last time he saw her before Little Luke was born, told him that he only brought problems and heartache in her life. Could she be right?
"-first, we need to find where it was mailed from. I know that if someone has her, they aren't stupid enough to mail it from the same town, but it's a start. Do you still have the envelop?
Lucky actually agreed with Luke on this one, it might get busy, and if Elizabeth was in that town, even dangerous. He called Kiara and arranged with her to take care of her little sister for a couple of days, telling her he had met a woman, he didn't want his children to worry for nothing just yet and he went home and pack. Each breath he took could lead him closer to Elizabeth. He just hoped his father was right and they would get to her in no time. 7 months had passed, and Elizabeth was probably thinking he didn't care what happened to her by now.
"-I'll find you Elizabeth. This is my promise to you, right now. And you know I never break a promise"
"-I told you he didn't care. The person said to Elizabeth. If he did, he would've talked to someone about it, but he so doesn't care, that he is taking a trip with his father
Elizabeth looked down and nodded, hoping her jailer would leave her alone. Her message to Lucky didn't come through, or he simply didn't see it. This had been her only shot to let him know, and now she was stuck in this hell hole, this dark place that was far worst than where she was after the rape, and she was alone. Forever.

-No, I need a favor from you. Lucky annswer as he put Lani on the desk
-Sure I'll watch PonyGirl, no problem
-I thought she said she didn't want to be found
-She lied. Or someone told her to lie.. Read it again dad. Lucky said, giving him the letter. Keep in mind that she is being held against her will and you'll find something. But no matter how hard I try, I can't see it. But like my son said, she wouldn't have left like that. I need your help dad"
-When we found out it was Tom that was blackmailing her, Nikolas and I went to his studio, Elizabeth and Emily was trapped into his dark room. Elizabeth was sitting on the floor, staring into the nothing, and she was shaking as a leaf. I helped her up and walked with her to the other room, or she wouldn't have moved. My voice was the only one she heard.
-I see"
-It was her Valentine's day speech. Shhe said that day"
-I think so. But now what? If Helena or Tom don't have her, and Faison's dead, who has her? Who hates her enough to want to keep her away from her family?
-Maybe it has nothing to do with her.
-Lucky, please don't hate me for sayingg this, but maybe it has something to do with you"
-Yeah I do. Lucky replied and gave himm the white envelop.
-Um, Los Angeles. Actually, the personn may be there. It's a big town, full of weirdoes, and it's easy to blind in. Maybe the person who has her expects us to look elsewhere, telling us one wouldn't mail it from the same town. Anyway, we don't have anything to lose at this point
-What about Lani?
-I'm sorry Cowboy, but PonyGirl has to stay behind."
-a trip? Where? Elizabeth asked with her tired eyes
-Luke is taking him to California. Luccky told your son that he had met a woman, and he wants to go and spend a couple of days with her, to get to know her better."
