INTRODUCTION
Eligibility for Service
The Level... of danger, faced by a child, can be plotted on a continuum, that stretches from none to life-threatening.  Generally speaking, the time it takes to respond to referrals, reports, information should
correlate with the level of danger, to the child.
Deciding... on an appropriate "Response Time", is a matter of professional judgement, as is assigning the appropriate priorities, to differing simultaneous referrals, reports and information. Chinical skill, child protection training, previous experience, and consultation with colleagues and supervisors, are important components, of the professional judgement, necessary to make these decisions.
