| Philadelphia Auditions
Here are my faves from the Philadelphia auditions that got their golden tickets. Angela Martin age 26. She was the wedding singer who had to "de-wedding" and she also had a disabled daughter with Rhett's Syndromw I believe it was. Kristy Lee Cook age 23. She was the girl who trained and sold horses. She had a great voice and was told to come back with more confidence. Beth Stalker age 28. This is Beth's one and only chance. She was a stay-at-home mom that Simon told that she wouldn't stand out. Chris Watson age 20. He was a good looking, black guy from Dover, Delaware. He had a great voice and a really good style. Simon told him that he looked like a star. Brooke White age 24. She was the good girl nanny that Simon wanted to corrupt. Dallas Auditions Here are my favorite who earned their golden tickets in Dallas, TX. Kyle Ensley age 21. He was the geeky, Clay Aiken wanna-be. Randy said he was "very academic" and glee clubish and Simon gave a speedy "yes". I didn't expect him to be good, but he was REALLy good. Colton Swon age 18. This may be my man! I generally pick one person during auditions that I follow as long as they stay. I remember when Chris Daughtry was going through auditions. He was my rocker dude and he never failed me. I love his album! Colton has a his own band with his brother, Zach, and has a good, raspy, rocker voice. Drew Poppelreiter age 24. Drew was the farmer boy. Very good looking and a great voice. What more could you ask for? Oddly enough, Paula wasn't her usual light of positivity when she told him that he didn't have a "Wow" factor. Nina Shaw age 24. She was the black girl at the very end with the cool looking dress that only she could get away with wearing. I wasn't too keen on her UNTIL she sang her next song which was soulful and blusey and I really like that sound. She got two thumbs up along with everyone else. Charleston Auditions Michelle and Jeffery Lampkin ages 26 and 24. They were the brother and sister where the brother was a tad better than the sister. What a fun duo! I love them for their energy! Amy Catherine Flynn age 16. She was the young girl who was the captain of her dance team and spoke to students about abstinence. She made it through, she had a good voice, but I agree with Simon - she's going to annoy a lot of people. Oliver Highman age 27. He didn't make it through, but congrats to he and his wife, Allison, on the birth of their baby girl, Emma Grace! Omaha, NE Jason Rich, 21 - Really good looking guy who had a rough time getting started with the audition Rachael Wicker, 23 - Pretty blonde with dark brown eyes who was an arm wrestler and had a really good voice David Cook, 24 - Looks like a parrot, but had a really good raspey voice. He sung a Bon Jovi song. Leo Marlowe, 24 - Just a really likeable guy! Miami, FL Robbie Carrico, 25 - Ex-boybander with a long blonde hair and a beanie hat. Ghaleb Emachah, 27 - Oh wow! Didn't have that great of a voice, but with that accent and smile...who cares! Brittany Wescott, 20 and best friend Corliss Smith, 20 - Too funny! Black, heavy set girls who were best friends. Just two great girls with good voices. Suzanne Toon, 20 - Single mom with the ringlets in her hair and very pretty light blue eyes. Ramielle Malubay, 19 - Small Phillapino (sp?) girl with a huge voice Syesha Mercado, 20 - Happy, black girl with her Dad who just graduated from rehab Atlanta, GA Joshua Jones, 26 - The guy with the freaky eyes when he sung. They made him turn around to sing. Asia'h Epperson, 18 - The black girl whose father had recently died in an auto accident. She did such a fantastic job!!! I would have been an absolute mess. Brooke Helvie, 18 - Miss Florida Fair. Great voice, but kinda got on my nerves. Simon is quoted as saying "most annoying person I've ever seen in my life." Alexandrea Lushinton, 16 - I think she brought the whole state with her! She even had her 93 year old grandma who was just a sweet lady! Amanda Overmyer, 22 - The biker nurse. Different voice, but I really liked her style. She was very authentic to herself. Josiah Leming, 18 - This is the kid who lived in his car and sung with a British accent |
