     - able to use thumb and finger to pick up small objects
     - able to walk holding onto furniture
     - able to stand alone for a moment
     - able to wave goodbye
     - able to notice themselves in a mirror

Some could:
     - say "mama" and "dada" to the right parents
     - play ball
     - drink from a cup on their own
     - stand by themselves well
     - say their first official word other than mom and dad
