My Grocery Tips
I do my weekly shopping at Food Lion.  Over the 7 years I've been shopping there, I have learned how to work the system.  I know everyone has seen the Food Lion commercials about saving $20-$30 on their grocery bill. I don't know about that much, but the most I have saved is $15!  The general savings is $6-$8.  The easiest way to these savings is shopping through the sale paper, the in-store sales and Food Lion brands (which are just as good as name brands).  Once you find a system it will pay off.

A few tips for easier grocery shopping:

- Don't grocery shop hungry
- Pay with cash and a calculator (it's too easy to overspend when you have unlimited funds and no idea how much you are spending)
- Arm yourself with a list and stick with it
- Go ahead and let your kids get one thing at the store. It may keep them quiet. I buy my kids a ring pop at the store.  I let them pick one out at the beginning of the trip and they suck on it while I shop. Just don't forget to bring wipes. Ring pops are sticky!
- Go during the off hours if possible
