Hobbies
Hobbies are a clutterbug's best friend.  There is nothing that promotes clutter more than hobbies.  The more hobbies one has, the more clutter that comes with them.  I have found that empty cans are great organizers and they are free (for the most part).  Large cans like coffee cans or baby formula cans can be labeled and filled with all kinds of things.  They are also stackable.  Small boxes are great too.   Always label everything.  Computer labels are great because they are easy to read and look nice.  A large chest is also great for keeping fabrics and notions.  Use cans to keep things separated.  The little cans that International Coffee comes in are also fantastic for storage.
Have many spools of ribbon?  Cut a small section out of a wire coat hanger.  Slide ribbon spools through the opening and thread through the hole in the middle of the spool.  Hang the hangers in a closet.
Are you a cross stitcher?  Keep all floss wound and labeled in a floss organizer.  They can be picked up at any local craft store and are under $5.
Scrapbooker?  Keep supplies in a plastic supply cart.  Label drawers with their contents.  Keep blank paper in file folders and accordian files.
