Trailsitter’s Adventures
This is a collection of adventures that I’ve been on and tried to document. Some are backpacking. Some are caving. I hope to build on other different adventures as time goes on.
While most of these trip reports are written and photographed by me, some are by others and used with their permission.
Both Caving and Backpacking are, what I call, non-competitive team sports. It’s not a race to be first. And usually, the first one done missed something along the way. However, you do depend on the folks on your team. They watch out for you, you watch out for them. They are the ones you share your experiences with.
I hope you enjoy reading the stories and looking through the photo albums.

So now you want to go caving and want to know how start. First check out the National Speleological Society and find a local gotto (caving club). Find out when thier meetings are and go and introduce yourself. Talk to the folks there and let them know that you want to go caving and are able to abide by the caver's creed of "Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but well placed foot prints, kill nothing but time." If you want to take your youth group caving, check out the NSS Youth Group Leaders' Guide. If you're from around Pennsylvania, email me directly. Cave softly, but cave often, Allen "The journey is the destination of adventure."
