| WHERE'VE WE BEEN? October 19, 2002 TRAVIS: Hello and welcome to the Travis and Jonathan Online Funzone News Page! I’m Travis Harmon... JONATHAN: And I’m Jonathan Shockley! Boy, Travis, it sure has been a long time since our last update! TRAVIS: Well, I’ve been putting in a few double shifts at Hollywood Video. What’s your excuse, Mr. Unemployment? JONATHAN: I’ve been nursing a cold. TRAVIS: Since July? JONATHAN: Cough, cough. TRAVIS: Oh my goodness! That sounds nasty! JONATHAN: So does the new single from Kelly Clarkson. TRAVIS: Now don’t go all Simon on me! JONATHAN: And where’d Steve Kmetko go? TRAVIS: I know! I tune in E! and I get my Jules fix but I need my Steve fix! It’s like Rogers without Astaire! JONATHAN: I heard Steve left because of a botox accident. TRAVIS: Ha ha! That’s a good joke, Jonathan! That’s like a Jay Leno routine! JONATHAN: But I’m serious. TRAVIS: Also, Dr. Phil is very popular. You sort of look like him, Jonathan! JONATHAN: I should grow my mustache back! TRAVIS: And that Fat Old Greek Holiday movie sure took off like a firecracker! JONATHAN: It’s the best thing I’ve seen in a long time, except for Push, Nevada. TRAVIS: Have you figured the mystery out yet? I know you've been working on it. JONATHAN: I’ve been poring over all the episodes, and I think I’m well on my way to that million dollar prize! TRAVIS: I hope you’ll share! JONATHAN: We’ll see! TRAVIS: So is that all that’s happened since July? American Idol, Dr. Phil, Steve Kmetko, Push, Nevada…. JONATHAN: Big Hot Greek Summer… TRAVIS: And I guess that’s it! See ya in a few months! | WELCOME STILLWATER! October 19, 2002 JONATHAN: Travis, have you ever been to Minnesota? TRAVIS: I feel like I travel there every Saturday night through National Public Radio's beloved Prairie Home Companion. But have I ever actually, physically set foot in Minnesota? No. JONATHAN: Oh, I hate that Prairie Home Show. That man's voice puts me right to sleep. And he breathes so heavily! TRAVIS: I think Mr. Keillor has severe asthma, so it's not polite to make fun. JONATHAN: But he gasps like a dying fish directly into the microphone! Even I know better than that. TRAVIS: I also think Jesse Ventura is a real straight shooter, and we can't get enough of that in the world of today's politics. JONATHAN: Okay, here's a toughie: What city is known as the Birthplace of Minnesota? TRAVIS: Minnesota City? JONATHAN: No, dumbhead. Stillwater Minnesota is known as the Birthplace of Minnesota! And someday it might also be known as the Birthplace of The Travis and Jonathan Show Being Shown Outside of Tennessee, because now you can catch us every Thursday night at 10:30 PM on Valley Access Channels Channel 14! TRAVIS: That's so exciting! I wonder if Stillwater, the Birthplace of Minnesota, is close to St. Olaf, the Birthplace of The Golden Girl's Rose Nyland! JONATHAN: I bet it is! I don't think anything in Minnesota is that far from anything else. |
