The Beginning
The Story:
This story is just something I got the urge to write one day.  It's a fantasy story, but the beginning is just about developing the characters.  If you want to read it from the start, just click on The Beginning.

"All of them?" he asked.  "Yah, even the one I came through," said Jess.  "And you probably can't get back through the one you used either."  Jeff looked puzzled, and turned around to try the door.  Just like Jess guessed the door was locked.  "So what do we do now?" asked Jeff.  "I was hoping you might now," Jess said.  "I can barely remember what happened last night."  "Really, me either," said Jeff.  "All I can remember is some crazy stuff about John, and Jason, and then..."  "Getting your ass kicked?" said Matt.  He had just walked in the room, unheard by the twins.  "Damn man!" Jeff yelled.  "You scared the crap out of me."  "Sorry, thought you knew I was there," said Matt, trying to cover up his smile.  "Do you where we are?" asked Jess, ever hopeful.  "Ummm," said Matt, looking around.  "No.  Why don't we try the doors?"  "Already done that," sighed Jess.  "They are all locked."  "Oh, ok, then why don't we sit down?" Matt suggested.  "First good idea I've heard today," said Jeff, going over to grab a chair.  "You’ve only been awake a few minutes," said Jess.  "Exactly!" exclaimed Jeff, pulling a chair over to the middle of the room.  "Man you're weird," said Matt, doing the same.  "Yah, and you don't have to live with him," said Jess, adding a third chair.  Soon enough, they were all sitting around and talking like nothing was wrong.  About ten minutes later, Bren woke up in his little room.   He sat straight, and looked around for John.  When he didn't see him, he calmed down a little.  That was, until he looked around and realized he had no idea where he was.  To add to that, he wasn't wearing the clothes that he had put on that morning.  He got up, and examined the room.  The only exit being the door, he put his back against the opposite wall, and slid down to the floor.  He was only sitting for a few minutes when he heard Matt's voice from the other room.  Bren got up, put on the ugly clothes, and went through the door.  He found Jess, Jeff, and Matt sitting in a little triangle talking about the good old times.  "Hey sleepy head," teased Jess.  "Needed your beauty sleep did you?" asked Jeff.  "What the hell is the matter with you guys?" Bren asked, shouting.  "You're sitting in a strange room, chatting like you were sitting around a table in the caf!"
