Artifacts

Orb of Tirilaine
The Orbs of Tirilaine were created to help the Elves of the Sylstan Protectorate defend themselves against the encroaching armies of Thordbain. In the end many of the orbs were shattered or destroyed, or had their power drained to help Thordbain’s Council of Wizards to attain immortality by becoming liches. Many orbs were lost though, and they remain a powerful artifact in the plans and designs of powers both benevolent and malignant.

Ring of Life
The Ring of Life was crafted by an Aetrun wizard, before Goblin Spawn (approximately 2,320 B.S.). It was intended to be a gift to the Emperor of the Aetrun Empire, on what is now the Orc Lands peninsula. The ring grants the wearer immunity to the ravages of time. The wearer of this ring suffers no physical degeneration from the passage of time, while at the same time, gaining the benefits of longevity. The ring was taken from Emperor Rith of the Aetrun Empire when Hagug Bloodbane, the leader of the Orcish hordes, killed him in his throne room. The ring was then lost to time when Hagug Bloodbane was killed 4,920 years later by Quirtle Hagfoot, a Halfling barbarian, at the end of the 2nd Horde War (900 A.T.)
• Immunity to physical degeneration caused by aging
• Immune to time-related spells (Time Stop, etc…)

Staff of Sheidlak

This staff was used by Sheidlak herself in governing the Midlands prior to the First War of Souls. After her first death, and during the War of Souls, Sheidlak’s staff was broken into three parts. The base, shaft, and crest of the staff were hidden away in forgotten temples in three distant parts of the mortal world, to prevent any other deity from gaining access to the power therein.
The staff itself was to be used by Sheidlak if ever the mortal world fell so far out of balance that it could not be recovered. Legends speak of a time before the creation of the dwarves and elves that the staff was used to destroy a wicked and perverse world corrupted far too much.

Sword of Thordbain
The Sword of Thordbain was an artifact crafted by Aristobulus and completed on the same day the evil red dragon Thordbain was slain. The sword imprisoned his soul, preventing the dragon from becoming one of Ramdure’s Princes.  The sword is both a boon and a curse, granting the wielder the powers of a great wyrm red dragon, but slowly whittling away his sanity, until the sword controls the wielder completely. The last victim of the sword was Aaron, the paladin that was partially responsible for Thordbain’s death.
