Here is a picture of the start of my trailer hitch, license plate mount etc..

Above I have welded the plate for the ball onto the cross member. I used 1" sq. tubeing in the ends of the 2" tubeing, where the bolt holes are, to reinforce the 2" tubeing against collapsing when the bolts are tightened. I cut a piece of 1" tubeing 1 7/8" long and stood it up where the bolt would go through it.

I mounted the brake and clutch pedals here in this picture. I drilled holes through the skirt and bolted 1 1/2"x 1/4" bands, around the stainless steel bushings, the pedals rotate through. You can see these SS bushings,in the picture below, from page 1.

I am going to mount the master cylinders for the clutch and brakes here. I am going to try and use 1/2" sq. tubeing to push the clys., and hope they are stiff enough, and do not bend.

This shows where they both will be, the pedals and the Master cylinders.

Here is where I have added a platform to mount my battery. I should have mounted it on the other side, the side the starter is on, but I had it welded up before I thought about it being on the opposite side from the starter. Never the less it won't be far from the starter in any case. (You win some, you loose some, and some are rained out). ha

I have started to mount the front end on to the frame. I first level the trike frame, by jacking it up and then I raised the front end about 2 inches. From there I plumbed the front end and set the trail at about 3". I have still got to brace and build the framework for the front seat, add the gas tank. All of this will help to strengthen the front end.

Above is another shot of the trike from the front, I have it plumbed and tacked to the frame, I still like welding it on securely. Thats a project for tomorrow. Ha

Today I installed the rods which will push my brake and clutch Master cylinders. They are 1/2" square tubeing, 31 inches long. If they bend then I will go to solid rods, whatever size is needed. The pedals are up front and the Master cylinders are in the rear.

Here is another shot of the master cylinders from a little different angle, I thought you might see the rods better.

Here is a shot from the side showing the pedal and the Master cylinder on one side. The other one is the same.

I am starting to build the frame up from the floor pan.I now have the Master Cylinders mounted and braced, and the rods run back to them. I have the return springs mounted to the rods. If you notice in the rear of the floor pan, (to the left),small red and blue items ,these are two residual pressure valves. One is 10 lbs, on the brakes, and one is 2 lbs. on the clutch. Since I mounted the Master cylinders lower than the slaves. I have to use these to keep the fluid from draining from the lines.

I have started to build my fake tank. This is one that I built some time ago thinking that I would use it on the trike I first built. Since I didn't use it on the other one, I am remodeling it for this one. It is just started here. I will have to do a lot more to it to make it look like I want it too. I just set it up here to look at, and think about which way to go.

Here is a shot showing the way the tank will look when mounted, maby a little higher but in the general vicinity of where it is here.
