 "Winning the Approval of Odin" From the beginning, we knew our day would not be like any other wedding day. Kirk and I promised each other, our lives would always be filled with wonderful spontaneous memories that would not be easily taken for granted. I can recall the day we began to plan our wedding. We were carelessly sitting at a quaint and quiet little chinese restaurant in Flint, Michigan. The days prior had been filled with alot of nervous tension because I was with Kirk, visiting his parents and family. (Kirk comes from a large Mormon family, 9 children in all.) Somehow, even with all the anxieties, the day we sat in the restaurant was literally one of those times when everything in the background just seems to melt and you only see yourself and the person you love in the picture. Kirk and I sat sharing our meal and feeding each other with our chopsticks, just as we had done many times before, but this time, we actually felt like a real couple. Knowing that the key people in Kirk's life were aware of our plans and were in agreement with them, made everything seem like a cakewalk from that point forward Of course get engaged to a comic book artist and see what happens when you say the words... "Batman Costume"... |
