Glass materials are used in many industries of our society: furniture, bottling, cars, etc. The recycling of glass thus become essential to avoid environmental damages and unnecessary landfills. All of today’s glass food and beverage containers can be recycled, but it is important not to mix glass bottles with other types of glass such as windows, mirrors, glass tableware, Pyrex® or auto glass. Ceramics will contaminate glass and need to be carefully sorted out. This section provides you with a list of today’s recyclable glass materials. To learn about the actual glass recycling process, please visit our section Current Recycling Processes – Glass.
