News as of December 10, 2003 - Plans to improve Union Station in incorporating newer and wider platforms and an easier connection to the 509/510 streetcars have been made and were showcased to the public in an open house at the Royal Bank Plaza on June 24. - It has been more than a year since the Sheppard Subway has opened and most regard it as a waste as it is not carrying the amount of passengers it was projected to. With development popping around the Sheppard corridor ridership is bound to increase. Also in order for the Sheppard to be effective it should be extended to Scarborough Centre, however costly the extension would have great potential as it would attract more passengers.
