| In a day and age when man is so focused on "self" this scripture is encouraging as well as a continual message of love. It's easy to race to the front of the line at grocery store or to speed through lanes of traffic to get to the front. We give to others and feel rejected and forgotten when we don't find something given in return. I know I have! But imagine if we taped this scripture to our mirror and saw it each morning before we started our day. Imagine allowing other rushing drivers just go on ahead...imagine just taking our fair place in line at the store and talking with the person infront of us and just being pleasant. Imagine giving freely to others when we see an opportunity with no other intentions than to serve as He served. Serving doesn't require us taking up a new position at work or changing careers, it simply means taking up the road that Jesus walked and working within that mission to make a positive and loving impact on the human soul. We have a chance to serve man as Jesus did everyday of our lives. One great song tells us, "If we want to be great in God's kingdom, learn to be the servant of all." PRAYER FOR THE DAY: "Lord, please help me to be more like you. Help me to be the servant of all. |
