League Details

I may not have made this clear enough, it is very hard to get pitches this year. I do not just turn up to Regents Park and get a pitch. I have to book in advance by at least a week if not months in advance. Regents Park are still setting up there computer system so they are doing bookings on a couple of weeks basis. I know it is painful but that's life. I strongly suggest to all the teams to play at every opportunity given.

It is not acceptable to cancel matches regardless of reasons - if you have had time to ask you team, unless of course, there is a serious problem. If you tell me the night before it is not acceptable, if you ring me just before on the match day this too is not acceptable. Furthermore I need at the very least least a whole working day - preferable a week to cancel a pitch so that we do not have to pay for it. Possibly when all teams are playing that week, bare minimum two working days before - so ask your team over the weekend if they can play even if there is no game booked for your team. This way if pitches do suddenly become available you will know if your team is able to play.

Remember you will be forced to pay for a whole pitch £42 if an unacceptable cancellation means that no game is played and the pitch has to be still paid for.

May I remind captains to ask players, if you are unsure if you will get enough numbers for a game. If you know you have only a few people I might know of another team which can play, or players which can join you to play with. This way it will give a solution so that at least a game of football can be played, because lets face it that all we really want to do.

The dates I have asked for include all the weeks of the second term apart from the reading week where no games will be played. If you know a problem with any of these dates please tell me immediately as I will need to notify Regents Park. - this was not carried out which lead to a complete mess on the Wednesday 11th January. I know I contacted teams late in the day but you should know if you can field a team if opportunities happen again.

If you have any problem with any team please let me know your concern and I will try and sort out the issue.

Money

Can you insure that the correct money is not being brought for each match. It's not difficult get the money for me before you come. Collect the money of the team afterwards. Thanks to all that have paid for a match in advance.

I will require a payment for pitches a week in advance. This means the next game, if you have not paid a match in advance I will expect £42 to include the game being played and next game. Then onwards it will be the normal £21 a week with the exception of the last game of the season for which no money will be required.

Might I add that it is your responsibility to pay me for the pitches, if I am still playing in a game when you are going home, simply give the money to a Paft player. I accept responsibility from that point onwards.

Kit Colours

Civil Engineers - Red

Computer Science - White

Paft - Royal blue and white

Islam - Black with luminous yellow

Abacus - Navy blue (white when playing against Paft)

Korea - Dark blue (red when playing against Paft or Abacus)

Matches

All matches now played on pitches will count as league games, regardless of circumstances. If not enough pitches are available to complete the league as it stands then the "friendlies" played on pitches will count as a league game.

The timing for matches last time was appalling. I do realise that Paft were not always on time,  however we must all make a conscious effort to make sure all players are at the pitches and ready to play at 2:00pm.

This year there has been a severe lack of players for some team often due to poor time keeping. The captain from each team should ensure there are sufficient player to play a match. They should not rely on other teams to give substitutes up to make the numbers even. However in sporting manor if your team has substitutes and the opposition have too few players, can you please ask the substitutes if they would like to play for the opposing team.

I understand that last term lectures were placed at 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon, as it is a University policy not to schedule lectures at this time (or anytime after). You can force this lecture to be moved due to sporting activities. Accepting this does not as strongly hold in later years. If a problem arises please contact me then these matches can be moved to a later slot, due to it slowly becoming lighter in the evenings.

Results

Can I also have the names of people who have scored in fixtures, and the final results so I can add them to the site. Preferably by email as I have inadvertently deleted texts by accident recently.

Websites

If your team has a website can you please let me know the URL. For teams with out a website can you at least try and make a page and put up a team photo. I have managed to track down credible links to your departments / teams but a team website would be nice.

General Rules of League

- If there is a lack of pitches (such as this year) teams will take it in turns to play on a full size pitch.
- If there are any incidences which cause a match to not be played i.e. a failure to turn up, the team which fails to turn up will lose 3 points and the opposing team will gain a 3-0 win. The cost of the pitch will also be charged to the team which failed to turn up i.e. £42.
