The Library is currently constructing an audio visual center to assist Acadamic staff and students in their teaching and learning careers.

ID SYSTEM PROPOSAL: Just keeping track of students, their courses, their locations, their marks, their accomodation and the service they required such as library and book store service, cafeteria service, photocoping services etc. the University of Gondar is preparing a proposal for funding and implementation of an ID system.

BOOK DONATION: The University of Gondar has planned to donate 5223 books to the Amhara National Regional State , Vocational training commission.

PUBLIC CATALOGUE: The University of Gondar quit preparing the traditional card catalogue. It is through computer that any one accesses the catalogue .But because of the intranet work is not completed for temporary solution the Library put a backuped single user computer for each branch libraries.

WEB-PAGE UPDATING COMMITTEE : To make the University of Gondar libraries home page up-to-date and to periodically update currently a web-page updating committee is organized in the Library its current members is 3.

BOOK STORE INVENTORY: An inventory committee formed from the Library and general Service departments done inventory during summer time.
The Library has created excel file of bookstore books.This list is an accurate and current master list.

According to the committee report:
461 type 19,915 books are in medical health science bookstore.
31 types 1914books are in Applied and FBE Bookstores.
463 books are on loan.
Total = 22,292

Note : It was 18,390 volumes in Last year inventory.

The CMHS Library maintains an online catalogue which will become available in all of the University of Gondar library branches as soon as the internet connection to each branch is completed.

Along with that a catalogue print out is under construction and will be distributed to the Maraki and Lideta Campus Libraries whenever the computer networks are all available.

Online Journals and research is currently being initiated by the library staff. Please speak to the professional staff to make arrangements for in-depth research.
