December 2005 - from Dodi Conser Hi and Merry Xmas! I am now in my new house. I am working for Realty Atlantic with a broker I knew from Miami for over 30 years. Palm Coast is in Flagler County, which is the fastest growing county in the Us. They just incorporated 5 years ago. I am making new friends, but have to kipnap my granddaughter in order to see her due to their busy life. My son has 3 Allstate Insurance companies. My daughter is in Palm City about 200 miles south. She and my 2 granddaughters will visit for a couple of days next week for a surprise birthday party for my Xmas son. Then I will head to Palm City for Xmas. Happy holidays. December 2005 - from Janet Streenz Thanks for all the hard work in making the additions to the website. In regard to my family, as you probably all know Bill and I had five children (four girls and finally one boy). They are all grown now. We have three grandsons: age 18,2 and 1. There will be a little girl in April (Yea)! As for my life things are changing quickly and dramatically. I am in my 51st year of teaching dance, and in May, 2006, I will end my career as a teacher of dance when I give my 50th annual dance recital. For the past 24 years, I have also been involved with Twin Cities Ballet's production of the Nutcracker either in dancing the solo role of the Arabian Dancer in Act II or as the mother or the grandmother in Act I. I also choreograph the "BonBon's" every year. These last four years, I have done the dance choreography on a local show at Christmas time called the Holiday Spectacular. We do our own version of the Wooden Soldiers number similar to the Rockettes, plus other dance numbers in the show. We proudly accept praises from all over. This year, there were show biz people from New York City there to see it, and their response was amazement that we could put on such a professional show with mostly amateurs. It's been fun! I plan to continue dancing professionally for a few more years wherever that leads me. I can't just quit dancing "cold turkey"! I will have to admit, though, that I will miss the kids that I teach. After teaching for 51 years, it kind of gets in your blood! Love, Janet JanetStreenz@msn.com |
June 2008 - from Becky Aulenbacher I'm a "free woman" again...back to the busy flexible schedule of a retiree!! HOORAY! The last few days of school I kept thinking, "Theycrept into my heart and now it's time for us to part." Each one still has a story to be written, including me. We tooka few steps together on the path of life. Now we're all off on the next adventure. I'm glad I did it. I'm glad I know I can still do it. I don't intend to do it again!! Oh...in case you're wondering...remember what seemed to trigger the whole 'teacher episode' was my desire to start waking a little earlier...well, look at the time I am writing this...6:25 am. That's about two hrs earlier for me. Since school ended Smitty and I have taken a trip to Pennsylvania to visit his relatives. I also connected with a teacher friend from a science summer workshop we attended together. We've exchanged Christmas card letters but haven't seen each other for 42 years. We spent an afternoon together and intend to see each other again. I can see why we kept in touch. It still felt comfortable being together and we had plenty to talk about. We'd be good friends if we lived closer! This weekend it's back to teaching...only this time the students are PAYING to learn. Judy and I are teaching a 3 hour class to help cosmetologists integrate REFLEXOLOGY into their pedicures. This is a new one for us and may be the beginning of "something"...who knows. July will be busy. Denise is spending the month in the USA, mainly in Indianapolis...only a five hour drive from here. so we'll find times to be together. In August is my Alaskan cruise. I guess my next letter will be..."the return of the Retiree"! Love, Becky beckyau@charter.net |
