An email from Gene Glass Hartwig... Just a note to say I won't be able to attend. Dale (Gene's husband) retired from the ministry on Jan. 1, 2001...he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in Feb. 2001... I am still teaching high school English and speech here in Concord (Mich). I decided not to retire in June 2001 as our retirement home is up north about 17 miles from the nearest town and...I thought I'd go crazy! I still love my job, too. I do announcing for girls' basketball, volleyball and home track meets, sponsor SADD and NHS and serve on several committees. Plus I'm a member of session at church, direct the choir and play if no one else is available. Music is still a big love, and a real help to me right now. I am working on my first CD which should be finished and available for sale privately this fall. It has 15 tracks, and some of the medleys I have helped put together. It's basically hymns and original music written by my friend and voice teacher Steve Murphy. So, I have lots of irons in the fire. Please give my regards to our classmates. This is a very difficult time for me and has been since Dale's prostate cancer surgery 4 years ago. He is going to need a heart valve replacement soon, as well. It is better to reach me through my school email which is: hartwigg@ccs.k12.mi.us. I'd be happy to hear from the "old" gang!! |

Hi from Judy & Ken Regnier - June 2008 Ken and I have lived in our new home for 4 years now, in the California Sierra foothills, where gold was discovered in 1849. My great-grandfather went to the Gold Rush at that time, so I feel a real connection with this part of our beautiful country. We are truly enjoying retirement, our home, the weather, our neighbors, our new church community and the golf course! We have treasured travel time spent with familly, as well as our sons and grandchildren. I am still painting, and have now participated in several nearby art shows, selling not only my watercolor paintings, prints, but also some note cards and bookmarks. I have added to my small business this year. Now I am designing & building websites for organizations and businesses! I am also serving on the board of directors for our local Christian Pre-K through 8 School. Therefore, I no longer feel retired... I have been busy getting to know new friends in our community (and serving as Corresponding Secretary & website editor for our 2-county Newcomers Club. Check out my own website, which I update as I have new work to add: www.judyregnier.com We are really looking forward to seeing you all in October for our 50th Reunion: We made it for another one!! Love, Judy & Ken judy@judyregnier.com or woodsangel@volcano.net |
