Our Projects and Accomplishments, Year 2000-2001

This Restroom in Laoag near

by ULOH past administration.

ULOH- as a member of OFCC, This organization is actively involved in OFCC projects such as Adopt-A Hi-way, voters registration, bone marrow donor registry drive and other numerous OFCC Fund raising events.

ULOH awarded $2,000.00 in Scholarship to deserving students, ($500.00 each per recepient).

       1. Anthony Bareng Constantino- Fire and Military Science
         University of Hawaii, Manoa.
       2. Gloria Jane Ader- Pre-Med, Chapman University, Calif.
       3.Jessie Ulep Ramirez- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
         University of Hawaii, Manoa.
       4. Jovelyn Hufana Pedro- Broadcast Journalism
         Chapman University, California.

ULOH donated $500.00 to the Consul General Minerva Jean Falcon Scholarship Fund.

ULOH donated/Pledge $2,500.00 to the Filcom Center Project.

Spearheaded the Bone Marrow drive for patient Jason dela Cruz (ancestral roots from Laoag City).

Donated hospital beds, linens, and some medicines to Laoag City General Hospital thru the SIRMATA organization.

Contributed $500.00 for the $10,000.00 shipment of a CT-scanner to the Ilocos Norte Provincial Hospital thru SIRMATA organization.

Donated 4 sets of Encyclopedia books, series of Math books, and fax machine to Laoag City library and offices.

Donated traffic equipment, vests and cones to the Laoag City Police Department.

Spearheaded the Shipment Drive ($12,000.00) freight for the 2 Fire trucks donated to Laoag City (sister city of Honolulu) by the Administration of Honolulu Mayor Jeremy Harris. Chaired by ULOH President, Angie Borromeo and co-chaired by Jun Salenda- Liason to the Office of the Mayor, Laoag City. With the efforts of Laoag City Mayor, Roger Farinas together with his council members, the two Fire trucks reached Laoag City just in time to be in the Grand Parade at the Pamulinawen 2001 Festival in Laoag City attended by members of the United Laoaguenos of Hawaii who went to the Philippines in February 2001.
